Overall, Sous le Palmier earns praise for flavorful Haitian dishes, a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and a beautiful terrace that suits gatherings, with polite, attentive service and takeout that arrives hot and delicious. The menu features dishes like cabrit and griot with macaroni salad, and portions are described as generous and prices reasonable, reflecting authentic flavors noted by many reviewers. While most experiences are positive and the restaurant is often highlighted as one of the best Haitian spots in Lasalle, a few diners report small portions or order mixups and some say service can vary by contact method, suggesting room for consistency while the food and vibe remain strong.

After trying at least 5 other places - this is by far my favorite. The quality of the food is excellent & consistent & it's authentic Haitian food. I plan to continue to order other the favorites later this week!

Love the spicy pikliz & the sauce pois that comes with the Lalo. The griot was a bit dry but the riz colle with the sauce had great flavor. Definitely would recommend & would like to try more.
went with my wife & son to eat at the restaurant. the service was ordinary. the griot was dry, it didn't look & taste fresh, the salad was washy, the rice tasted good & so the plantain. then i look at my bill & there's an extra six dollars charge. so i asked the waitress what was that she said they charge 2$ fees by person when eating at the restaurant. there were no place in the menu or elsewhere in the restaurant advertising you of this extra charge not even the waitress warned us about this. THAT IS CALL THEFT. no restaurant in canada has ever charge me an extra fee for eating in the restaurant. they only charge for tips.
Had an amazing time this weekend for my birthday with family & friends. The customer service was amazing & the entire staff were so friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming . The food was fresh & very flavorful. The drinks were delicious & reminded me of being in the Caribbean. The music selection had me dancing & grooving. Will definitely recommend & return. Thank you ALL for the wonderful time.

Definitely the place to go to keep you smiling. You stop by because you're hungry, no doubt. You've wanted to try, taste or eat Haitian food, & this was maybe the closest one that came up on your GPS. You had no idea you'd get the best customer service. The owner of this restaurant is full of life. He makes you feel like the best customer & treats you like the VIP you knew you were all along. We go back each & every time for the food, yes, but especially for the service. Thank you for always making us feel like we never left home.
Chicken was great but they dont give thighs only drum sticks. The rice with the sauce amazing but the salad was lacking. The fried plantain tends to be dry & was cold. For the amount we pay, expected a bit more.
The staff is very welcoming & with their new dining room the atmosphere is great. When it comes to Haitian food the price is very competitive & it comes with all the bells & whistles. I strongly recommend sous Le Palmier for good food & great service.
