sushi(18) grill(17) bbq(15) tip(15) korean(13) viande(11) groupe(11) all you can eat(10) dessert(10) to go(9)This place angers me. At least make your signage in Korean, why is it in Chinese in the first place? That should already be a dead giveaway. I had to go there because of my friends, & as I have expected, the food had nothing to do with Korean food. All they did was just set up a grill in the table. Even the grill itself was sketchy.
We went to Montreal for the day as a group & had decided to go here for dinner. They take reservations, which was excellent seeing as we were a group of 8-10 people. We arrived approximately 15 minutes before our reservation time & confirmed we would be 8 people. Our table was not ready yet so we were told that we would need to wait, not a problem. When we asked if we could have a seat outside on the patio (which was empty) & have a beverage while we waited, we were told yes we could sit there but we would not be served anything until we were at our reserved table (huh??). It was all prettymuch downhill from there as far as service was concerned. When our table was finally ready, the hostess questioned how many we were when she only counted 7 of us. Our party had not all come so 7 was our final number. As a result we did not get the 8 person table we were supposed to, instead they stuck us in a booth with a chair at the end. Now, we are 5 adult males, the table was cramped to say the least. When I asked about a bigger table I was told no, because we were not 8 we could not have the larger table. I commented that this table was a bit small for all of us & the hostess simply shrugged her shoulders at me & said "Well, it's Saturday & we are busy..." & then walked away. 7 grown men at a table meant for 6 max, one grill to cook the meats on & zero room to put food/plates/drinks/etc. There wasn't even room for us to move our elbows around without hitting the person we were sitting next to or being over their plate of food. Some time went by & our server finally came to the table with 4 waters ... just 4 ... & it was quite some time later that the other 3 waters came. We had to stop him as he walked away to ask for a drink menu ... nothing was offered. The water glasses were disgustingly filthy, covered in fingerprints & cloudy with waterspots. They had a greasy feeling residue on them - quite the turn off. Same went for the beer glasses. But, as you can imagine, there was no point in complaining because they are complacent & unapologetic when it comes to service here. Eventually we put in our order for our first round of food. That came fairly quickly & was eaten even more quickly. When we tried to put in a second order we were told that we would have to wait as we were not allowed to order more food that quickly. Each round of food was either missing items that we had ordered or had items that we did not ask for. The server was unattentive & we had to constantly give our orders for additional food to other servers, the bussers, etc. Then it came time to pay the bill ... low & behold this is when we are told that there is a 15% automatic gratuity because we were more than 6 people. Now, I have no problems with tipping, & 15% is a minimal tip for average service, but in this case, it was not earned at all. The only up side to the whole experience is that the food was actually quite good. The service, however, was not even worthy of a ranking of mediocre. Will not return here again, nor will we recommend it. Lesson learned.
I think this restaurant is so good! this is one of my favorites. There is a very good service with very nice server, food is fresh, there are so many choices! There is a small barbecue in the middle of the table to grill your meat, I find it very original, but it is very hot, it's the only negative I have to say this restaurant. We're very welcome when going to eat there, it is ideal for festive dinner or with friends or family. My food that I like most there is sushi, they are so good, I advise you to try is!
It's a nice place, good atmosphere, a lot of varieties on the menu, the fact that we have a grill on the table to cook our food is really fun & it's a great idea. The only problem is that it's expensive especially on the Holiday season & on weekend nights.
First time we went there - we were a group of 12 people on a friday night. The food is very diversified but not 100% Korean - you have sausages on the menu for instance . It costs 24$ + tax + tip (the tip is auto added on the bill itself for 15% & before tax). If you take a beer with your food you should expect your bill to be about 40$. That day the service was horrible : 1-the waiters were sometimes lost & many at the same time 2-Also some of the orders we asked for were missing items 3-many times we wanted something & there was no waiter near us As for the food itself it is good but not great (you have fish , squid , sushi , pork , chicken , beef, etc....). Note : Be sure to ask to change the grill from time to time & be sure to reserve prior to going.
If you want to try this restaurant, I advise you to make a reservation (via phone). We went there on Mother's Day & there was a long line. (Good thing we already made reservations). It's my first time to eat at this place & I thought, the food must really be good for these people to patiently wait (& the wait can be pretty long for an "all you can eat" bbq place). 1. Service - very good... the server attended to our needs (replacing the grill, asking if we need anything more); always in a "happy" mood; fast & efficient 2. Ambiance - okay; we were seated in a "less traffic" area because we were 8 (they had a separate corner for bigger groups); expect to be charged automatically for services - 15% 3. Food - BBQ: loved the fish & squid (plus they're easier to cook on the grill); we also had beef, chicken, pork - they're pre-marinated & they all taste good, some may be on the salty side but it's okay; there's also zucchini, onions & bell peppers SUSHI, all good, talk about variety.... Since we were 8 in the group we decided to write on 2 order sheets, bad idea... one set of the order did not come to our table but we did not make a fuss about it since it's easy to write another (It's an all you can eat deal). 4. PRICE - we ate at lunch time so it's cheaper than what they charge for dinner; so it's really up to you, if you want salmon, mussels, shrimp, etc. included in your menu (dinner) you got to pay more (but it will be worth it). My family enjoyed the food & service that my husband had to give extra tip. 5. Remember this rule, SEPARATE THE UTENSIL YOU USE FOR THE RAW MEAT & FOR THE COOKED FOOD/ VEGGIES. It's what we call in the food industry as preventing cross-contamination. Don't blame the establishment if you get a tummy ache because of neglecting this. The restaurant provides you with two kitchen tongs. Use them wisely :D ENJOY... HAPPY EATING!
We had a blast cooking our own meets over the grill! We chose the all you can eat menu & it was great. The beef is the best item on the menu, bu sure to try it out. The booths are real nice & big, nice decor, all in all a fun place
When I got to this restaurant with a coworker, we waited near the entrance (outside) for a server. After a bit of a wait, we went inside & were then told to go back outside. Finally someone seated us but we had to wait another 10 minutes to get menues, a clean grill & utensils (my coworkers got utensils, I didn't). We finally ordered some food. A bit from the kitchen, stuff like sushi, dumplings, egg rolls, rice, etc. It was very good. When we finally got out meat & our grill cleaned, the real party began. If your grill is very hot, the cooking process will go very fast, so try not to fall into too deep of a conversation, lest you forget your meat burning on the grill! We ordered beef & squid & veggies to grill, it was all fresh. We would add soy sauce to the food as it was grilling & it would turn into a syrupy salty sauce, it was excellent. The service left quite a bit to be desired: it was slow, the servers would never come outside onto the terrasse, & it was very hard to get their attention. The food, however, was very good & I would go back again, hoping for better service (& I may just avoid a seat outside).
