Average food, much better italian restaurants on the west island, good service, loud but good for families/kids
I love coming here for the friendly staff, watching sports while sitting at the bar -- and the pizza the best in the world (pasta is awesome also).
Pasta is amazing. We were all very happy with our choices.
We went for the first time to this restaurant.Very good food, service is ok but expeditive.Definately not a good ambiance for a nice dinner : noisy, felt we had to leave as soon as possible. Will not go back.Maybe more appropriate for lunch....
A friend treated me to belated birthday lunch here and we were very satisfied with the food and friendly service. Seemed like the kind of place where people hung out in friendly surroundings. We each started with a small salad (green for her, Caesar for me) and both were lovely. A warm roll was a perfect addition. My friend loved her veal marsala and I devoured every bit of my veal parmesan. My portion was quite large for lunch and was accompanied by grilled red peppers and zucchini. I had no room for anything else but my friend managed to have a coffee which she said was great, too. I would highly recommend this cozy little place when you happen to be in an Italian food mood. This is their specialty.
Food was great! Authentic Italian restaurant
Very modern and clean
They made me feel like I was part do the family....loved it!
Jamais mangé à l'intérieur, surtout depuis les réno's mais lorsque j'habitais tout près, c'était mon ''go-to'' pour satisfaire mon envie de veau parmesan & pâtes sauce vodka. Prix raisonnable.
One of the best Italian restaurants in Montreal !!! The food is amazing feels like nonna is cooking in the back! Wonderful place! Great food great drinks and great prices, can't get any better!
Great neighborhood haunt nestled away in an otherwise non-descript strip mall; quaint (if not a bit tight), romantic Italian resto with a down-home feel. Decently-priced, with nice portions, with what are, in this diner's opinion, the best gnocchis in Montreal.
Owing to the size and the overflowing clientele patronizing on any typical weekend night, reservations are definitely a MUST...but worth it! Despite the somewhat cramped dimensions and the busy crowds, service is always prompt. All-in-all, Riccardos is the next best thing to eating at home (if your mom's Italian, that is!).
We were very pleased with our experience at Riccardo's. The service was courteous and friendly. The food was delicious and presentation was nice. Although the restaurant was almost full, we were able to have conversations with ease, I believe they had a noise issue since they renovated but I believe that issue has been resolved. Great experience!
WOW...WOW...AND WOW!!! Has soon as we got in the restaurant, we felt like we were invited for supper by a member of our own family. The appetizer was incredible (italian sausage + marinated eggplant and rosted red peppers, enough for 2). The main dishes (gnocchi with rosée sauce and Mama's pizza were very tasty). Very nice choice of wine by the glass (2 size for a lot of them 7&9 onces)at very reasonnable price. Great ambiance, a definite MUST for italian food lovers!!
Was there a few times before. Seemed delightful. This time, wine spilt by waiter on pouring. Main course brought before hors d'oeuvre. Main courses taken away. When main courses arrived again, looked as though they had been kept warm.
Pizza was limp and tasteless.
Delicious! THe gnocchi is homemade and TO DIE FOR. The lasagna is also homemade and absolutely fabulous. Reasonable prices, friendly service and excellent food. What more can you ask for?
Excellent food and service, a go to place any day of the week!
What a diamond in the ruff. The food was fantastic ! We had a few apps ; calamari, prosciutto and melon with fresh cheeses and olives and eggplant, escargots, salad, shrimp limoncello/Risotto (shrimps were done to perfection) , chicken marsala (very tender), wine (great prices 30)
Main plates 15-20
A family owned restaurant who treats their clients with impeccable care.
Classic Italian dishes.
Already planning to return in 2 weeks.
OMG Wow! Loved the homemade gnocchi here! It was so fresh! And the people who run the family restaurant are so nice, I will go back for sure!!!!
just had my daughter Bianca's bridal shower on July 10th in the afternoon with 48 guests and let me tell you i was not disapointed. the service was excellent and the food was very good, the ambiance is cozy and warm. they let us set up the tables and decorate the way we wanted with no hassle. they made the day be stress free. the best part was that i felt they were taking care of me. there were no hidden costs, everything was detailed and up front. it was perfect. i would recommend this resto to everyone.
they also make the best gnocchi with a rose sauce in the west island. the dough is not pasty and chewy, but light and fluffy that melts in your mouth. the portions are very generous.
Keep up the good work, marco and sandra, Riccardo would without a doubt, be proud of you.
Upon entering the small, family run restaurant the ambience right away makes you feel at home. The seem to made up primarily of regulars that have been eating at this establishment for many years. The tables are situated quite close together giving making it seem as though you are attending a big Italian dinner.
Though nothing spectacular the food was quite good as the pasta was properly cooked and the sauce had good flavour. The only miss of the night came in the form of the veal milanese which was tough and dry. It took a while to be seated but once we were the wait staff was curteous and made sure that we were properly attended to.
Overall, it was nice evening out, with no real complaints but with so many other places to try in Montreal, it is unlikely that I will be going back.
Ate here for the first time on Valentine's day, and the restaurant didn't enforce any over-priced set menus. The service was friendly, and the food was fantastic. A little slice of Italian heaven in the west island.
