It was my daughters birthday & she wanted to go to Mauricio as she had been there many times before with a friend when she was living on the West Island. We were arriving at 8:30 pm & the restaurant closes at 9:00 pm. They were very nice to us & said that we could still eat & take our time as long as we wanted. The food was very good. The waitress was very kind & we definitely will go back again. Thank you for the good service we received.Voir plus

My wife really likes their piri-piri chicken but at home we eat a lot of chicken, so I go for pasta. Their pasta menu is extensive but it's hard to find anything outstanding. I had the spaghetti carbonara & it was pretty good. I took the rest home & ate it for lunch the next day. The restaurant has a full bar but their beer selection is Italian, with nothing domestic. I did not get anything in a bottle. In fact, I went for the house red wine, which was very good.Voir plus

Nice, long-standing restaurant that my wife knew from her youth. We had a reservation, but sitting was done on the fly. Half full at noon, a little more waiting time to be served since they were short on stuff but worth it. Good food, good espresso. The tables are close, the atmosphere a little loud, & everyone hears everyone's storiesVoir plus

Tried Maurizio’s last night for the first time. Been wanting to give it a try for a while. Last night we pulled the trigger, my wife & I. Terrace is small & a little crammed. We had 2 restaurant options & we were apprehensive about staying. Ordered a round of drinks & decided once we were done with the drink we’d decide pay & go or stick around. We stuck around. Mid way through the meal the terrace began emptying. By the end the wife & I had the whole place to ourselves which was fantastic. Shared a bottle of wine, she took the table d’hôtel salmon & had the Bruschetta (sry for spelling). I had the pizza on table d’hôtel with Cesar salad. We shared everything & finished off with a cannoli each. It was fantastic. No regrets. Better spacing on terrace = 5 starsVoir plus
The cheerful waitress gave us great service, & the ample serving of lobster ravioli with tomato sauce was very tasty. The table d'hôte selections, including fresh salad or soup, were quite reasonably priced. I would return to try other dishes.
Growing up, Maurizio was my go to place. I was there multiple times a week. I needed a place to bringing my family before the start of a very hard day, my dad's funeral. I indicated my situation in my reservation. I told one of the server about our situation when I arrived. The server seemed a bit annoyed to serve us. The entire table said their food was so so. My potatoes were lukewarm. I sympathize with the current state of the restaurant industry but please remember to smile when serving. When a customer tells you they are in a hurry as they need to attend their father's funeral, be sympathetic & try to hurry. We asked to place our order along with our drinks & the answer was no. Instead, it took several minutes to enter drink orders, then the server finally came back to take oders. Sadly, it was one of the saddest customer service I received. Good luck. You were not ready for our group, you did not have enough servers or cooks. It took an hour to get our drinks & another 45 min for our food. I am extremely dissatisfied.
