We came to Montreal from the U.S. for a weekend getaway, & one thing was non-negotiable on our agenda-finding really good Indian food. After seeing this place highly recommended on social media, we decided to give it a try, & I'm so glad we did.
It's a small, unassuming spot, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for with heart. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed like family. It's a family-run restaurant, & every single person made an effort to stop by our table & make sure everything was perfect. That kind of hospitality is rare & so appreciated.
We were greeted with a welcome drink, & honestly, I could have happily drunk an entire glass of the gol gappa water they served. It was that good.
The star of the meal was undoubtedly the Amritsari kulcha. One bite & I was transported straight back to the streets of Amritsar. Easily some of the best kulchas I've had outside of India. They were perfectly seasoned, not overloaded with spices, & had just the right amount of crunch. The channa that came alongside was excellent, & the imli & onion chutney was such a nostalgic touch. It's something I've only ever seen served properly in Amritsar, never here in North America.
We also ordered the chole bhature, & I was pleasantly surprised to find that the chole was prepared differently from the one served with the kulchas. Most places use the exact same preparation for both dishes, but not here. The bhature were light, fluffy, & not greasy at all.
The veg momos were another standout-thin wrappers, generous filling, & cooked perfectly. Simple, fresh, & delicious.
The paneer tikka was equally impressive. Soft, tender paneer marinated the traditional way & seasoned beautifully. One thing we noticed throughout the meal was that nothing was overly spicy or loaded with unnecessary seasoning. The flavours felt balanced & authentic, allowing each dish to shine on its own.
The food here doesn't just fill your stomach-it takes you back home. We loved it so much that before heading back to the U.S., we came back the very next day for lunch.
This place satisfied both our heart & our soul. If you're in Montreal & craving authentic Amritsari food made with care, this is an absolute must-visit.
Food is okay but customer service is way bad. They just greedy kind of people we ordered one full plate & half plate & then we ordered another plate which we asked to cancel but they said they cant cancel it once ordered even they have other customers waiting for that kulcha. They behave more like car sales person & one more thing they charged extra for toping up of extra chanas
One of the best chole bhature in Montreal. Also tasted Tandoori momos & they were also very good. They gave complimentary gol-gappe paani which was amazing & also gave jalebi for tasting which was also very tasty. Must visit!!
Highly recommended place to have Indian food in Montreal! Me & my friends were really happy by their way of serving & hospitality which is a plus point. One should try their amritsari kulcha (in the price of one you will get two)& gol gappe water. Thanks!
You should be aware they have only three tables. We went there from ottawa & Did not get the seat. The waitress showed no interest in accommodating us. They didn't even say how long it would be before we get seated.
Amazing quality amazing taste it feels like our order comes directly from India same taste
Visited this restaurant today with 4 friends & had an amazing experience! We tried the Amritsari Kulcha, Channa Bhatura, & Paneer Kulcha - everything was fresh, authentic, & absolutely delicious. The owner is a very kind & humble person. Even though we arrived close to closing time, he still welcomed us warmly & served us with great hospitality. He even gave us some complimentary treats, which made the experience even more special. Great food, generous service, & a very welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for Punjabi food lovers!
