The escargot was the best I've ever had & the beef tartare was amazing. Service was good. Menu online says dessert is included in the lunch special but was not when at the restaurant which was a little disappointing. Would definitely recommend!Voir plus
Had dinner there, sat upstairs the music was excellent.Voir plus
Outstanding!! Lyska took great care of us at the bar. Superb drinks & awesome food. If we lived here, we'd be regulars. As it is, we came here two of our four nights in Montreal.Voir plus
Service client de Christian était parfait, malgré l'achalandage de fou lors de ma visite nous avons été servis comme des rois!Voir plus
We had a wonderful Wednesday evening. Food was delicious; our server, Tyler, was exceptional; & the live band was lovely.Voir plus
Great atmosphere, great music, great service! However, the menu is lacking a VEGAN main course. They used to have ratatouille, but it was a very small portion & didn't even come with rice or some kind of grain. I'm sure Modavie chefs could come up with something delicious.Voir plus
We traveled to Montreal for the 2024 total eclipse & afterward headed to dine at Modavie . Upon arrival, we were surprised to learn that our dining time was limited to 2 hours-a unexpected limitation. Our server, Stephan, was outstanding, entertaining us with jokes & offering great recommendations. While the wine & some of the dishes were enjoyable, the Nicoise salad was disappointing-overly oily & lacking expected flavors like anchovies or dejon mustard. Also, the Lamb Cavatelli was well made but boring. Lastly, the Fondant au Chocolat was overly sweet & lacked complexity, tasting more like a store-bought brownie than a freshly made dessert crafted by a pastry chef. Overall, our experience was underwhelming, & we don't plan to return. The price for two was above average.Voir plus
The restaurant is beautiful with a nice ambiance. Our waiter, Tyler, was super nice & professional. However I had the salmon tartare & I was very disappointing. I usually love tartare but this one was unfortunately tasteless. My friend had the lamb pasta however & it was delicious so I will probably go again to try something else! Some work on the cleanliness of the bathrooms could also be done, it was dirty & smelly. It wasn't my best dine in experience but I will keep an open mind & try it again for sure. The overall ambiance & service was great!Voir plus
My compliments to the service, Yan was 10/10, & made the experience really exceptional. We would come back just because of the service & the delicious food. The jazz music was amazing as well. Worth the travel.Voir plus
Very good food, friendly service. We came when there was construction on the road outside so it was hard to figure out how to get in. It is possible to get in via a pedestrian bridge across from Escondite Vieux Port. We ordered the Escargot, Moules Frites & Crème brûlée. Excellent food!Voir plus
Nice restaurant. The atmosphere is bustling. The service was good. Waiter was studious, but not very attentive. Staff to customer ratio may be the reason. The food was good. The rack of lamb was a little bit gamey. The desserts were phenomenal! We ordered the bone marrow appetizer, beef tartare, steak & fries, 2 kids menu (pasta & chicken nuggets), & the rack of lamb. Overall, the food was good. Place is clean & atmosphere is popping with the live music. Overall, a place to visit on special occasions.Voir plus
Lovely restaurant in Old Montréal with live music from 7PM & a selection of lamb on the menu. The poutine was delicious & worth the added cost for the braised lamb. I was hoping to try the lamb pappardelle mentioned by other reviewers but it appears they've switched to cavatelli, which was cooked perfectly so no regrets! The only downside was that the lamb cavatelli was too rich & oily for my preference, otherwise would also highly recommend this. The lamb chops were decent, nothing spectacular. Great service & ambience for a date night.Voir plus
The ambience & live music made this a perfect date night! The steak & fries were amazing & so was the poutine with fries & braised lamb.Voir plus
Great dinner! Service was on point, food was delicious & the live jazz music was bringing the perfect atmosphere (the music is not too loud, perfect for a conversation around the table). We'll be back, thank you!Voir plus
Stumbled across this gem on our first day in Montreal for a business trip. The food was incredible (my first time having escargot, I'm obsessed now!) & the service was amazing too! Lorenzo has got me practicing my French for next time :) Merci beaucoup!Voir plus
