Great wine list & their food was a blend of classic French dishes with Montreal touches. Dessert was really amazing there.
Great service, & cozy atmosphere. Provided both a French & English menu. Good fries & mussels & duck confit. The salad seemed a bit plain in my opinion. They also brought us a baguette with butter for free!
Great food & staff! Restaurant gets really crowded so make sure to have a reservation. The tables are a bit tight but it was still cozy! Came here for a double date & everyone enjoyed the food - as someone with celiac the choices were limited but the staff helped identify gluten free options (note: cross contamination is a possibility). All the gluten eaters raved about the French toast dessert & that it was the best thing ever!
We had two people dining here & this was our first time in Montreal. We tried various French cuisines, but Leméac was one of the places that disappointed us. Here's what we ordered:
- Calamari: Not very impressive, the taste is quite mild but it's nice if you're looking for something easy to start with
- Duck breast: We were very disappointed with this dish. The ingredients didn't work well together at all. As someone from Hong Kong, I found the Asian-French fusion quite strange. The sauces didn't soak into any of the ingredients, & the dumpling was very average from an Asian perspective. Overall, it felt overpriced
- Hanger beef: The fries were hot & fresh, but the beef was served cold, so the butter on top didn't melt. This was another disappointment
- French toast: This was the highlight of the meal. The toast was large, served warm, crispy & delicious w/ a great balance of maple syrup & ice cream
Overall, I found the quality to be average compared to other restaurants we tried here. The atmosphere can be quite noisy when the restaurant is full. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this place, except for the French toast.
Nothing much to say, this was the best experience & service I had on this trip, I recommend this French restaurant.
Excellent! The food was great, quantities were fair. The joue de boeuf was slightly too salty & the Cornish hen needed work to reach the level of other dishes. Great place, the scallops, escargot & French toast was phenomenal!
Fantastic everything, especially the food. Amazing traditional French cuisine. Simple, straightforward & delicious. Escargot, Beef Bourguignon & Profiteroles made for a perfect meal.
Very well executed classic French fare. Good service, reasonable price & its open late. It's definitely a Montreal institution quality French restaurant without all the high-end fluf.
Excellent & professional service. Food is always satisfying. A standard French restaurant that maintains the consistency of quality.
The French do it again & keep up their crappy reputation. Pretentious & rude. We came here for a girls dinner. Not white, so we're treated rudely. Was taking h photos, was asked to stop. Food was mediocre. Service was atrocious. I'm sure not everyone is like that but what r you gonna gain from being rude to beautiful women dining in ur establishment. Nothing! Never coming again & not recommending . Mtl has a million lovely restaurants so you won't be missed
My all time favourite French bistro in town. As Parisienne as it can get. Classic dishes with spot on seasoning. Extremely stable consistency over the years. Professional service. Even like their fresh flowers on the counter, marble tables & the irregular flooring. Beautiful establishment.
This Montreal gem offers an elevated brunch experience while maintaining a warm, inviting atmosphere. The space strikes a perfect balance between cozy & french traditional restaurant a place where comfort is at the forefront but the touches of elegance never feel out of place. It's the kind of restaurant where you feel at home, yet pampered, which is no easy feat. We gathered as a group of eight for brunch, & every detail, from the food to the service, was meticulously crafted. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the Norwegian platter, featuring fish so fresh it seemed to have come straight from the sea to the table. The prawns were succulent, & the accompanying vegetables & salad added a refreshing, vibrant contrast. The Egg Benedict & Pain Perdu were also standouts, each dish executed with care & attention to detail. The finesse was undeniable-every bite revealed a layer of thoughtfulness, from the presentation to the flavors. Service matched the quality of the food. The staff was attentive & accommodating, seamlessly navigating the needs of a larger group without missing a beat. Their warmth & attentiveness added to the overall experience, making it feel as though the restaurant was made for intimate moments & gatherings alike. If you're searching for an exceptional brunch spot in Montreal, this is undoubtedly a must-visit. In fact, if we weren't leaving the city today, we'd already be planning our return visit for tomorrow's brunch. It's that good-a meal worth repeating.

Outstanding brunch. This was absolutely the best French toast I've ever eaten. I really wish we'd made it here for dinner. Next time!
All in all, we were satisfied with the food. The crab cakes were a little disappointing ! I would not recommend this appetizer as they did not stand out in any way. The main dishes were all great : salmon tartare was perfectly seasoned + came with a choice of either green salad, French fries or veggie of the day (which was green beans : the waiter suggested a green bean salad). The option of a different side for the tartare was very refreshing & the green bean salad complemented the tartare very well ! The scallop main dish was filling enough which sometimes isn't the case depending on portion sizes ! The grilled beef hanger steak was quite good & came with enough fries for 4 people ! Finally, special mention to the salted butter served with fresh baguette as we waited for the food to arrive. That butter was creamy & flavourful, one of the best butters I have had in Montréal so far !! Great atmosphere, great waiter, great attention to our table & needs throughout the evening 🌃 Thanks Lemeac 😊
Lemeac is an absolute classic. I never eat dessert but the french toast here is an exception every time I go.
Perfect lunch spot. Chic spacious interior, a sophisticated class of patrons, & just really good french bistro style cuisine.
Came here for brunch & had a wonderful experience. The food was incredible, prepared with care, & reasonably priced (comparable to most other brunch places). Their ultra thick slice of French toast was airy & soft on the inside, just literally perfect especially if you have a sweet tooth. The salmon eggs Benedict were also wonderful. Will be back for more!
