Drawing on his 33 years of experience, Pierre Menard embarked on the great adventure of opening Le Célébrité Restaurant in the same spot where La Pomitora, one of the South Shore’s “restaurant par excellence”, was previously located. It is with fond childhood memories that Mr. Ménard decided to restore this well-known establishment.
Le Célébrité, serves only homemade cuisine. The breakfasts, lunch specials, table d'hôte in the evening as well as the famous desserts, everything is homemade. Several recipes come from old aunts or grandmothers. The unique taste of breakfast potatoes, the famous sugar pie, the meatloaf and the salmon pie on Friday are only a few items from our extensive menu.
We also offer a table d'hôte in the evening with more than 12 choices ranging from homemade spaghetti with meat sauce to steak and fries, all at reasonable prices. At Le Célébrité, you're home. You shouldn’t be surprised to see Pierrôt the chef come out of his kitchen to greet his customers!
Le Célébrité is described as a lively, versatile venue that shines for party nights and live music, with space for dancing that many reviewers say is increasingly rare, and a warm welcome from staff, friendly service, and affordable prices for generous portions, making it popular for birthdays, family nights, or nights out with friends. The atmosphere is festive and the entertainment strong, including a standout singer and engaging performances, though the noise level can be high and conversations difficult. Food impressions are mixed: several visits praise good value breakfasts and lunches and some dishes like salmon or shrimp, while others complain about inconsistent meals, bland or overly salty items, undercooked eggs or greasy potatoes, and meals not meeting expectations for price. Service also ranges from attentive and prompt to slow or less helpful on busy nights. Overall Le Célébrité is seen as a reliable, budget-friendly option for a lively night out or group celebration, with the music and ambiance carrying the experience despite occasional culinary misfires and service hiccups.
