Open for over 39 years, La Maison Grecque on Duluth street in Montreal will seduce you with its warm decor, music atmosphere and authentic Greek cuisine. Whether on the terrace in summer or by the fireplace in winter, enjoy Greek cuisine in a unique way. Always proud to welcome you for over 39 years, Peter, the owner, well appreciated by many, will immediately make you feel at home. A gem of a restaurant to discover.
La Maison Grecque is described as warm and welcoming, with generous portions, delicious Greek dishes, and a cozy ambiance that makes every visit feel like a celebration. The service is repeatedly praised for being attentive, friendly, and professional, with staff who explain the menu and check in without being overbearing. The menu features classics such as moussaka, souvlaki, calamari, dolma and tzatziki, all described as flavorful and well prepared, often accompanied by warm bread and comforting soups. The atmosphere is likened to a Greek island or homey setting, with a charming terrace that enhances the dining experience. Bring your own bottle is a popular plus, with nearby options to pick up wine, and the BYOB setup is frequently highlighted as a notable perk. Prices are regarded as reasonable for the portions and quality, making it a common choice for birthdays, family gatherings, or casual meals with friends. Overall, the place comes across as reliable and consistently satisfying, offering authentic flavors, a welcoming team, and a memorable ambiance that keeps guests returning.
I was looking forward to celebrating my sister's birthday here only to leave quite disappointed. Where do I begin....its very awkward to placea large group in the middle of the restaurant(very small restaurant) especially when we looked over to one area of the restaurant that would have better accommodating our size group. Only 1 toilet in the women's washroom was working on a busy Saturday night. Let's talk about service, or lack there of. I am pregnant & I asked for a sprite as soon as I sat down & drink orders were being taken. It took about 45mins for non-alcoholic drinks to be served to me & the children of our table. When the bread came, no butter was provided & when we asked, it took about amazing I must say! The other apps I sampled were also very good. When it came to main courses...I ordered the 2 stick souvlaki, most dishes that were supposed to come with side salad, rice & potatoes, did not come with rice at all. When we asked our server about this she checked why the meals didn't come with the rice & she informed us that the restaurant ran out of rice!!! Ran out of rice on a Saturday night! Absolutely unacceptable & insane that a restaurant is not prepared on a Saturday night! Smh......The salad only had olive oil on it....nothing else. I am just super surprised at the lack of customer service & care.
Je suis retourné le 24 août 2024. Le filet de poulet ( moutarde & miel) est exceptionnellement bon. Apportez votre vin. Il faut l'essayer! Peter, le propriétaire, est un restaurateur de haute compétence !
This place is literally an institution. We have been there for years! The Surf'n'Turf is a no brainer. Quality-price you can't go wrong with it. Great for birthdays, anniversary & romantic dates.

Kindest, most helpful service of all of Montreal. Generous, tasty food at a bargain! Quiet terrace in the back! Go (& don't worry about parking - you will want to walk anyway after this delicious food)!!!
There are not too many authentic Greek restaurants in the city anymore so finding a gem like this is so refreshing. The food is excellent. The portions are huge & the Moussaka, my personal favorite, is a must. Wash it all down with a nice Greek coffee & a Baklava afterwards. You can bring your own wine too & the service is top notch. The only negative thing I can say about this place is the parking. Not too easy to find most times. Other than that, it's a definite yes for me!
Amazing authentic Greek food!!! The taramosalata, Tsatziki, Tyrokafteri, & Spanakopita are all home made. All made fresh daily. Huge terrasse in the back for those summer days. Definitely worth the drive!
