I think this place may be abit too hipped. I heard so many amazing stories from this place. The food was very good I have to say. I had the fried chicken and waffles, they were soooo good! And my bf had the grilled veggies and goat cheese burger also amazing. The place itself is huge, not very cozy but still cute in a retro way. The service was very fast and friendly. Unfortunately I felt like I was at McDonald's. Kids screaming and running everywhere, so loud. I'm happy I tried it but there are less commercial places to try.
Went last night with a group of 6 friends. Nothing special about the burgers. I've had better. Waiter was nice. Women's bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Floor was dirty and sticky...i partly blame the women for this...what the hell is wrong with you people that leave toilet paper and an empty tampon cover (yes that's right, I saw it on the floor last night) on the floor...but at the same time, it is a restaurant and it should be cleaned often. Never going back.
Don't order the roast beef melt sandwich...The Sweet potato fries were good and so was the service.
First of all, this is not a place for dieters, nor people looking for a quiet ambiance. It's a very family-oriented restaurant, with lots of kids and teenagers milling around and enjoying themselves. The place is definitely 50s to 60s diner style, with loud music, burgers, dogs, shakes, ice cream and more.
I never had the true diner or ice cream parlour experience, so this was a welcome treat. Service was great - at one point, we had to change seats, because my husband is large, and was going to fall out of one of the smaller booths. So the manager promptly showed us a more suitable table. The waiter was friendly and efficient. The food came out pretty quickly, and our burgers were delicious (by the way, you do get a choice of bread), as were the sides we ordered - mac and cheese, and regular fries. My husband ordered a chocolate milkshake, and I ordered a banana/strawberry smoothie. My husband enjoyed a real milkshake for once, but my smoothie wasn't quite as sweet as I was expecting, but that's okay - with no extra sugar added, it was healthier. I will definitely eat there again, but I'll be sure to pick a quieter night, like Monday to Wednesday.
Not welcoming to families.
We love Jukebox for the food and decor. Unfortunately, management doesn't favor a family environment we're looking for - catching up with eachother. Blasting music provides a great backdrop to watch the game but not for a family night out.
Do not go as a family ... if you're interested in hearing what your kids have to say.
After reading all the positive reviews, we decided to try this burger place.
Unfortunately, my experience was not very good. I had the 1/4lb Elvis burger, with poutine +3$. The beef patties are unseasoned. For the 1/4lb burgers, you do not get a choice of buns; it came with the basic white bun which was blah. The fries and gravy for my poutine were room temperature, so the yummy goodness when the cheese curds melts, was non-existence. I would have sent the poutine back but our waiter had an attitude, so I just didn't bother, nor did he ask how our meals were.
Huge disappointment. Will not be back.
While the decor of the restaurant was top notch, the burgers were less than stellar. I ordered the "Elvis burger" $13.95 (carmelized onions, mushrooms and Swiss cheese) with a side of onion rings + $2.00. The burger was overcooked, dry and flavorless. My friends were also not impressed with their burgers. Many other buger places on the island with a better product. I won't be back.
Jukebox is the ideal, family-oriented restaurant for comfort-food oldies like poutine and burgers. Friendly service, great eats (albeit in a less-than-quiet environment...remember, this is a kid-friendly resto!) make for a fun night out. I especially like the different burger choices (in that I don't eat beef) and the eclectic side dishes. The kicker is the fun, retro-50's diner style, with the matching wall decor and stylized furnishings.
Fair prices coupled with great shakes make Jukebox one of my family's "go-to" joints.
L'an dernier, les burgers étaient succulents.
very good burgers, pricy but it is worth it's value ,you can tell it's fresh .very very clean ,you can see the owner or managers really take keeping the place clean and in order to heart. alot of love goes into this place and you can see it if you look.Staff is young and cute good service and friendly.didn;t try the shakes or ice cream but looks good.
The food is always great but the service can be slow when they're busy.
But in my humble opinion, when you're with friends, the time passes anyway.Remember those curly-Q fries you had when you were a kid? Well Jukebox has them. And they're amazing! Their ice cream treats are delicious. Don't forget the kosher hotdog - it's among the best I've ever had.
I've eaten here about 12 times, got bad service only once, but the eleven other times have been great! Friendly staff..very friendly staff..and now they HAVE A NEW, WORKING JUKEBOX with 1000s of selections!
Way to go!
Great place for kids, food tailored to their taste and there is a cute little jukebox machine that they can play with. The food is tasty, the portions are generous. Service was very average though, both times I have been there the waitress was very young and it showed through her attitude.
We're new to the West Island and came across this spot by accident. We have had good meals here, and we'll continue to come back. The patio is nice, and the service is really good. The menu has good variety without offering everything and the kitchen sink. I love a good burger and I am not disappointed with the burgers here. I look forward to my next visits and trying more of the menu.
I have been to Jukebox many times with friends and I absolutely love the place. The decor is awesome, and the music matches it perfectly. The service is very friendly and polite. The food, ah so much to say, I've tried pretty much every type of food there; burgers, salads, sandwiches and mac n'cheeses. Burgers are always juicy and perfectly cooked, the salads are delicious and massive, Sandwiches are super tasty and fresh, and the mac n' cheeses are always creamy and cheesy. I love everything about this place and it gets so busy in there that I know I am not the only one in love with Jukebox.
Went with two of friends and we arrived at 9:30 pm on the 21/3. They told us the kitchen would close soon afterwards and we told them we would show up, make the order fast and get out asap. Good plan right! It didnt turn out so good
our burgers showed up after 22 minutes. One of my friends ordered sweet potato fries and they were cold. The waitress offered a replacement portion which she took the second portion was warm and tasty. Then, we checked our other fries and the top was warm and the bottom cold as if they stayed on the holding pass under the lamp for too long
Now the piece de resistance! The best burgers in the west island its why we came to sample the best of the best. It was like a wet fire cracker.. that sums our experience in a phrase.
My burger had no seasoning on the meat so it tasted pretty bland. The bread was supposed to be cooked fresh It was at least 24 hours old and dry and not yeasty at all. My friend with the grilled cheese burger was the best. The grilled cheese were done right. The meat suffered lack of seasoning but when you make 2 good grilled cheese, no matter what you put in the middle will be good!
Now, the Beliveau I said I didnt like food named after people and this is why. The poor man must feel a heartache everytime one of those burgers gets served.. The beef pattie had broke and they sort of tried to hide it in the kitchen. Not so great.. Next, the flavors were so dull and boring (no seasoning, mango not ripe and some decent avocadoes). The burger was sooo bland the only thing that popped was the pickle taste
Apparently the place gets packed and people love it. Good for them. I know Im not going to be spending more money there anytime soon.
