About us

PIZZA, PASTA AND SFIZI!

Industria Pizzeria + Bar is a modern pizzeria offering a fusion of authentic and modern Italian cuisine – SFIZI style! What is that ‘S’ word? SFIZI are Italy’s version of tapas or sharing plates. Italians love to share and the plates and portions are designed to do so.

Sergio Mattoscio, Executive Chef of Industria Pizzeria + Bar, has held several chef positions including Chef at Med Grill and Rare. He opened his own restaurant in 2008 which soon became known for his signature gnocchi poutine. Word got out and Manhattan chef Scott Conant offered him a position at Toronto’s Scarpetta, however his love of Montreal kept him here. In 2013, he was a contestant on the TV show Top Chef Canada and soon after he became chef in a new venture, Industria Pizzeria + Bar, in Griffintown.

Our guests enjoy an all around fun and delicious experience in a hip and industrial decor offering a rather progressive concept.

Our motto…

EAT. DRINK. LAUGH.

The waitress we had was very off her tone was not friendly at all , she was probably having a bad day but i still tipoed her regardless because i know its not an easy job but i honestly did not want to. She had to print our receipts threee times because she did not understand how to seperate the food accordingly although we explained it to her she kept on saying yeah without fully understanding. The crust on our pizzas were burnt black it was disgusting and the gnocchi poutine we will never purchase again it wasnt that great. I wont be going there again whole experience was not acceptable. They even brought out pizza before our entree and we had to ask what happend to the entree we ordered and brought it later on during the night. Nothing made sense its like they rushed our pizzas.

We went to the Industria in Galeries D'Anjou. Never again. Too pricey for what you get. Our drinks, two glasses of Sangria, cost more than my meal. I ordered Chicken parmeggiano, $19, it was partly burned, with very dry hard edges.

I hate when a restaurant tries to over-price meals just to appear elegant, but this restaurant only has the elegant decor but no good food to back it up. A common trend in today's restaurants.

The room was also very cold, they had the A/C on when it was 9 degrees celcius outside. The waitress even made a mistake on one of my friend's bill by overpricing one of the meals.

When we got our coffee, they gave each one of us one pouch of sugar with our cup. Some of us take two, so we had to ask for more. God forbid they would put more sugar pouches on the table.

Never again.

My boyfriend and I ate here for our anniversary and had a great meal. We ordered the arancini and bruschetta to start. The arancini was delicious and very similar to the ones we had in Sicily. Only thing missing was a bit of sauce to dip them in. The bruschetta was a fresh tomato and garlic sauce on a thick crusty toasted bread which was quite good but a bit under salted. He ordered the pizza with prosciutto, tomato and parmesan, which was absolutely delectable, with a soft and airy crust which reminded me a lot of Bottega's pizza. I ordered the orecchiette with sausage and rapini, which was quite good but a bit too salty. All in all, I would highly recommend the pizza and would probably go back to try some of the other dishes. The service left a but to be desired, but the decor and atmosphere made up for it.

SO amazing! SO happy to have finally tried this place out. I had the arugula salad which was great! Then couldn't decide between pizza or pasta so I ordered both and took what I couldn't finish home. The orecchiette with Italian sausage and rapini was exactly how I imagined it would be and the margherita pizza is probably one of my favorites ever. The sauce is just like your Italian grandmother would make! So so good!!!! Finally we shared the nutella pizza and cappuccino to top off the perfect dining experience. Our waiter was also very friendly. PS the house red wine was good too!

Belle accueil.

I came here for a birthday dinner with 3 friends. The decoration, location, food and service were lovely. We sampled many different dishes including gnocchi poutine, octopus, calimari, salmon, pizza and chicken. Everyone was pleased with their food and the with the choice of beer/wine/spirits. This is really a lovely addition to the neighbourhood.

I also wanted to mention that this restaurant is open for dinner later on (we were there from 930 to about 11) and is a great place to have dinner before a night out in Little Burgundy, at the nearby New City Gas or a quick walk to bars/clubs on McGill in Old Montreal (as we did).

I will most definitely be back on a regular basis.
