This is my go to Mexican restaurant. They food is amazing & service is excellent. We go every month to have their shrimp tacos.Voir plus
Great soups & salads. Relaxing atmosphere at lunch & a fun vibe in the evening. Decor & music fitting of latinamérica. Service has always been quick on my visits, even with larger groups. Now if you are a Latino & are expecting a Mexican style taco similar to what you tried in Mexico City choose something else as they are not the same style. The tacos you find here are more of a Tex-Mex taco. If you want something more authentic to Mexico, try the enchiladas. On my latest visit I tried the lamb burrito which is also Tex-Mex. It was accompanied by beans & a salad which were both very satisfying, The burritos are cut in two & so you can always easily bring one half home. They would also make a decent order to-go meal. For the drink I recommend the Mai Tai. Now if you want something sweet to eat at the end of your meal try some churros with hot chocolate. Give them a try, especially if you've never had any. They are originally from Spain but are also very popular desserts in the former Spanish colonies such as Mexico, Peru & Panama.Voir plus
I like the place, I order tacos de barbacoa & were amazing, the waiters Sara is so nice & gentle. I recommended 100%Voir plus
Waitress took wrong order so my friend had her dinner after mine. Steak Tacos were warm not hot & just off the grill. The mayo in the steak taco is ordinary, not usually what is in a taco
We had a terrific dinner! Nachos were huge, drinks were delicious!
The ceviche was fresh & full of seafood. The tuna tacos with jicama were pretty & tasty!
The Mexican birder was so big it came home in a take away box & the steak quesadillas were a hit.
We were there early & our serivce was outstanding, from the hostess to our waiter to the manager ( owner? ) who presented the tortilla soup with flourish!
It had been a. Few years since we had been to the restaurant & we will be back again soon.
Calamari was delicious, Lamb tacos were a hit. Can't wait to try more on the menu.
Olie are server was helpful, friendly & fast.
Great ambiance & food. I absolutely recommend the tacos even though the portion is a bit small, the flavour is big! Other orders came as very large portions, so make sure to check with your waiter 🙂
We ended up there by accident & wjat a pleasant surprise. Great margaritas, Taco Tuesday was a bonus! & they were delicious!! Service was friendly & they made sure we didn't miss out on amything. Maya at the front was wonderful & so was our amazing server for which I didn't get her name but she was super as well. Thank you from table 703.
Both service & excellent...as usual! It's one of our favorite Friday night date spots! Must try the Atuna Tataki tacos.....simply the best!
We went there for my mom's birthday, & it was delicious! We would highly recommend their tacos with the pulled pork & pineapples - absolutely scrumptious. Their red sangria was also delicious, but they had a wonderful range of cocktails too! Staff are extremely friendly.
Great service, great drinks & great food! The scallops from the ceviche melted in your mouth! The tacos were also very good, made from pulled meat.
Good taste but.... tortilla soup without tortilla? & chicken tacos on flour tortilla? Isn't mexican food....so sorry....a lot of mistake in the same dinner...
I brought my family to this restaurant for my father's birthday, the food was excellent. I had a taco tataki & calamaries & they were excellent. Other dishes we ordered were the fajitas, the lamb shank & the ceviche, all were pleased. Also I had a massive drink called the bulldog which was excellent!
The service on the other hand lacked a bit. We could tell that the staff was new & some were lost but we could tell that they cared very much for the service they offered. We were asked by many waiters & busboys if everything was ok many times, which made up for their lack of experience.
My father was treated to dessert for his birthday & my sister got herself a cheesecake. The churros were good & my sister seemed pleased about the cheesecake.
Great ambiance, decor on point & good music!
One of my favorite restaurants in the west island
Had enchiladas & my gf some fish taco tataki. For drinks we had margaritas & a monstrosity called "BULLDOG", so good! Loved the place, although the waiting staff needs to improve. It's a new restaurant, so for sure they'll get it right. Will be back!
Great atmosphere, amazing cocktails & margaritas, wonderful appetizers - fun place to hang out with friends, share drinks & food. There were so many good choices to order, we decided to order a whole bunch & share, & I think this is the best & funnest way to try the menu. The taco tataki & ceviche are must-haves.
I've been twice with my kids & my 5year old loves the panko shrimp taco.
I love Mexican food & have been waiting for a decent restaurant to open in Montreal to crave my Mexican fix. I spent many years in Texas & developed an appreciation for good, real Mexican food. Thank you "Guaca & Molé" for being the first true fine Mexican resto in Montreal. If you are looking for plain Tex-Mex than I suggest you drive to the closest Taco Bell. But if you want fine Mexican cuisine that rivals any of Mexico's & Texas' finest then I suggest you give "Guaca & Molé" a try. This is my second trip since it opened a month ago & I will definitely be coming back!
Best of west island Mexican restaurants at this point & we need so many more. Right now only one of authentic ones. Very laid back. No need to dress up. Very busy,. Reservations are important right now. Ceviche is really good albeit too much liquid when served. Needs to be strained prior to serving but quire authentic. Hubby liked the beef tacos a lot. Very beefy (?) & less filling. Queso fundido very good. Drinks were amazing. Caipirinha Drinks were sooooo good. Hubby liked the margueritas! Not watered down! Service was great
Came here with the group from work on a Friday at lunch. The Service was awful!!! They got our orders wrong over & over again. One of the waiters kept arguing with us that the number 2 on the menu was a particular item but we showed him the menu & it was the vegetarian quesadillas, he did not apologize.
The worst part of my meal was the tacos I orders came on a plank of wood that seemed recently stained, & this transfered the smell & taste of wood stain to my food. Seriously!??? The portion (2 tacos for 12$) was over priced & way too small.
I usually give new places a few tries before I rule them out, but frankly, I don't feel like setting foot inside this place again.
Nice to have a new Mexican place in the West Island again. Location is great, parking is easy, restaurant bright & airy without the typical cheesy Mexican 'decor', seating is original & comfortable, the place has everything going for it to become an 'it' place but...
... Music is way too loud: can hardly hear each other sitting across the table from each other
... Service was interminably long: got our drinks & appetizers within 15 minutes when restaurant was empty, but as it was filling up, it took approx. 40 minutes for the waiter to come back to take our orders which were served somewhere between warm & hot, about 35 minutes later (we had been seated 90 minutes by then). We had to wait another 20 minutes or so after having finished our meals for the waiter to come check in on us. We were not offered coffee or dessert, nor we would have been willing to wait around for them. By the time the bill was paid & we walked out, we had been in the restaurant for 2:35 hours!
... Menu is a modern mix between traditional Mexican & modern (ex: ceviche sushi!) which is refreshing, but disappointing if you were hoping for some authentic fare. As for the dishes's execution, presentation was nice, but flavors & seasoning is off (2 orders of guacamole were too salty - should be more lime & just a pinch of salt - Piña Colada was sickeningly too rich & sweet, chicken tacos were a complete mess of blandness while the chipotle steak & vegetables was a delight.)
... Staff seems overwhelmed with waiters serving all areas of the dining room at ones (rather than sections), could not explain their dishes well (is the chicken molé, red or green molé? euh... let me check).** we were asked not to push the authentic Mexican plates on the table so as not to scratch the tables !
As mentioned above, this place has everything to make it a cool place to dine, but a few weeks into its existence, it seems to be unprepared to deliver the level of experience that will make people go back. I certainly hope they get a handle on things very quickly because I want to try out a few more items on the menu.... & I hope the next time will be better, otherwise there will not be a 3rd... sadly.
