About

Cibo & Vino presents a curated selection of Italian culinary staples centered on the preparation of hand-rolled pasta and traditional stone-oven pizza crusts. The menu features heavy reliance on imported cheeses and cured meats paired with regionally sourced produce to ensure structural consistency across every dish. Patrons observe an open layout characterized by utilitarian furnishings and a layout focused on efficient service flow between the kitchen and seating areas. The preparation techniques prioritize simplicity, emphasizing the natural acidity of tomato-based sauces and the earthiness of authentic olive oil. Staff maintain strict adherence to standardized recipes that define the regional identity of the menu. This establishment offers a direct, functional approach to Mediterranean-inspired meals within an accessible environment that favors practical utility over decorative artifice in its daily operations.

Review Summary

Cibo & Vino generally receives positive feedback for its delicious food, particularly the pizza and pasta, alongside a friendly and attentive atmosphere that many families enjoy. While numerous patrons praise the prompt service and pleasant patio setting, others have noted inconsistencies regarding portion sizes, pricing, and occasional service challenges that have led to uncomfortable interactions. Despite a few negative reports about the experience, the majority of visitors leave satisfied and recommend the establishment for its overall quality and welcoming environment.

We were first greeted at the door, passing by, exhausted & hungry. The older gentleman asked if we would like a table, made some small talk as he sat us & called his waitress over. She only spoke french, but we were able to order just fine. I ordered the margarita pizza (basil tomatoes & cheese traditionally) & my husband, the bolognase (his favorite dish). First redflag.....the restaurant we realized was totally empty, & the old man was trying to get people to stop. Second red flag.... I ordered a vodka cranberry that tasted like water with a hint of cranberry. There was no vodka in my drink. Third... the wait wasn't bad if it was good food, but I received a burnt cheese pizza & & my husband had 5 minutes noodles with jar sauce. Zero flavor & very watery. We flagged down the waitress to pay the bill & the bill was much higher than I thought. $100! (USD) I didn't think the menu had this high of prices listed but we were tired & hungry so maybe they did. The food was edible...but not at all good & certainly not worth the cost.

We stopped in for dinner on a whim while in Montreal for the Grand Prix. We were greeted immediately by the owner, who was friendly, welcoming & attentive. The food was very good - our table had a combination of the pizza, ceaser salads & pastas & shared a bottle of house wine. The food was a solid "two thumbs" up by all the parties involved - with maybe the odd opinion that the pasta dishes could have been a bit bigger. It was a nice relaxing dinner - & while shopping the next day we dropped in to chat about hockey for a bit longer with the owner. Thanks for the great evening!

Found seating for a group & gave great umbrella shade on the river front. Friendly with a group. Pizza & poutine was low quality, fast food / frozen.
