Absolutely delicious, & the service was wonderful! The staff were attentive & friendly, & the ambiance is warm, spacious & authentic. Would recommend to any lovers of indian food!
Good Decor & food is great. Problem is it is pricey & portions very small. I recommend checking elsewhere. But good if you want to kick it up a notch as a night out
The restaurant is nice & situated on crescent . We recommend the garlic bread . & we tried the chicken Masala which was spicy but not much & we also tried the chicken Chettinad . Nice enjoyable dishes but the only thing is it is expensive compared to what you are given . Each Chicken dish has about 7-8 medium chicken piece for about 20$ a plate with no rice or anything - those you would need to order on the side
Overall : a nice experience
Eh..... This restaurant was just ok. Good food but not fantastic. I've had better indian food in those "hole in the wall" restos. But still very very nice ambiance, trendy, but with traditional indian decor. Great for a date or group party. Service wasn't so great, our waiter who I believe was the manager was a little pushy trying to get us to order more than what we wanted. However very & accomodating.
I recommend getting the chai tea.
Having arrived in Montreal a mere 3 weeks ago, my husband & I were in need of some spicy food. We looked online, found restomontreal (what a fabulous site for a newcomer!) & made our way to Devi's which is a hop, skip & jump away from our home.
I had a good feel about the restaurant from the moment I walked in, the deco, the beautiful lamps, the friendly wait staff & only hoped that the food would not disappoint. It did not!
Often, you find that spicy is a relative term depending on where you are geographically. We like our food HOT & specifically requested our food to be made even more spicy & the chef at Devi's complied. We had the Boti Kabab as a starter then moved on to the Kadai Chicken & Paneer Bhurjee. We had our mains with portions of saffron rice & plain naan & they went beautifully together.
The food was excellent. The lamb was tender & just the right side of spicy for us, the chicken & paneer were flavourful & all dishes were in generous portions. We compared Devi's to some of our favourite restaurants back home & it held its own.
We truly enjoyed our meal & would recommend it to anyone who'd like a taste of real North Indian food. With good food, friendly service & fair prices, Devi's is a winner on all count. We went back for seconds on my birthday - the very next day!
I very highly recommend this Restaurant for any Special Occasion. On Aug. 7th 2008, we were placed in the 3rd. floor to celebrate my son & his bride-to-be's Wedding Rehearsal Dinner. Although it was originally to be a Buffet, the servers changed it to be served at our tables. Due to some of us being Vegans, the menu consisted of all Vegan items along with Butter Chicken & the Dessert being the only exceptions. The servers checked with my wife & I as to when we wished to be served. Our son had arranged for Appetizers, Main Course & Dessert. The Delicious meal consisted of MORE ITEMS than was expected. The food was served Piping Hot where appropriate & came Freshly prepared from the Kitchen with an explanation for each dish. This format allowed our guests to converse & mix in with others. We feel the Chef & the Staff did a WONDERFUL JOB & the cost was Very Very GOOD!
My fiance & I were on vacation in Montreal when we discovered Devi. What a gem! The food was fantastic & the service was great. I would recommend this place to anyone. We can't wait to go back!
Beautiful Indian restaurant in the heart of Downtown Montreal. Amazing quality of food & service & prices are very reasonable. I order the butter chicken & enjoyed it very much. While I was waiting for the main dish, I was served a basket of thinly sliced potato crisps which are delicious (especially with a nice cold beer).
I highly recommend Devi.
