Everything about this restaurant is amazing. The decor, the atmosphere, the servers & most importantly, the food.

I went during the lunch hours but I asked for the a la carte menu because I like to see everything that is offered.

Anyways, I ordered the chicken tikka, the shredded okra, & their homemade samosas for starters accompanied with a mango yogurt drink. The chicken tikka for an appetizer was very pleasing. Tender & juicy & very flavourful - with the yogurt dip it was perfect! The samosas were also really good, though nothing too too special about them. The shredded okra dish was the server's recommendation (I think he was the manager or something from the way he acted - professional & polite). It was great. The okra isn't for everyone but vegetarians will sure like it. It has a mixture of tangy & spicy flavour with some onions & tomatoes mixed in.

For the main course I asked for the spiciest dish & he recommended the kudai (spelling?) chicken. I also ordered a super spicy chicken biryani. I was extremely pleased with the flavour in both dishes. Boy they were extremely spicy ... Like burning hot panting type spicy. Loved it!

I give this restaurant a 10/10.

I will be back to try their butter chicken & a spicy lamb dish.

The restaurant is nice & situated on crescent . We recommend the garlic bread . & we tried the chicken Masala which was spicy but not much & we also tried the chicken Chettinad . Nice enjoyable dishes but the only thing is it is expensive compared to what you are given . Each Chicken dish has about 7-8 medium chicken piece for about 20$ a plate with no rice or anything - those you would need to order on the side

Overall : a nice experience

Food was OK. Some dishes were good but definitely not the best I've ever had.

Liked this place very much. The service was good although there were very few people so it may not be the case when it's full. The manager was very friendly though.

The food was very good, nicely spiced & aromatic. The dishes could have been hotter though so for those that like it spicy, you may want to mention this.

Would go back if I was in the area.

Having arrived in Montreal a mere 3 weeks ago, my husband & I were in need of some spicy food. We looked online, found restomontreal (what a fabulous site for a newcomer!) & made our way to Devi's which is a hop, skip & jump away from our home.

I had a good feel about the restaurant from the moment I walked in, the deco, the beautiful lamps, the friendly wait staff & only hoped that the food would not disappoint. It did not!

Often, you find that spicy is a relative term depending on where you are geographically. We like our food HOT & specifically requested our food to be made even more spicy & the chef at Devi's complied. We had the Boti Kabab as a starter then moved on to the Kadai Chicken & Paneer Bhurjee. We had our mains with portions of saffron rice & plain naan & they went beautifully together.

The food was excellent. The lamb was tender & just the right side of spicy for us, the chicken & paneer were flavourful & all dishes were in generous portions. We compared Devi's to some of our favourite restaurants back home & it held its own.

We truly enjoyed our meal & would recommend it to anyone who'd like a taste of real North Indian food. With good food, friendly service & fair prices, Devi's is a winner on all count. We went back for seconds on my birthday - the very next day!

Devi is an upscale Indian-cuisine restaurant that succeeds because of its great location (right in the middle of downtown Crescent St.) & its enjoyable food menu.

The grilled vegetable platter is a perfect blend of bbq & veggies (with tangy pineapple pieces mixed in!) The shammi kababs are delicious; cooked exactly like a homemade dish - the meat is soft, melting in your mouth & the surprise mozarella center gives it a uniquely tasty spin.

The other meat dishes are slightly over-salted, but the portions are great for two/tree people to share.

The atmosphere is chic, with dimly-lit lights all around the main floor. The young servers are helpful & give you enough time to choose your meal among so many mouth-watering choices.

The prices are considerably higher compared to other smaller Indian restaurants around town, but Devi is a great place to bring clients & a well-deserving way to treat yourself! Enjoy!

You must try this culinary delight that has great ambiance, surprising & tasty food & great location. The exotic atmosphere will transport you into the Asian realm. Dishes like ""Hariyali, fried fish, Achari Paneer Tikka, Manchurian & Tikka Masalla" will take you into a new realm of fine Indian dining but there is also the regular fare. The location on Crescent cannot go wrong for the party goer.

With a wealth of reputation in India & New York, I am sure Montreal will be enriched with the rich Indian tradition of great food & entertainment. Both my trips convinced me that it is an oasis worth our try to satiate our palates for food & a drink.

With thematic parties in the offing soon, I look forward to the atmosphere, entertainment & culinary surprises that this amazing new restaurant has to offe
