Beef with Thai sauce & the fresh spring rolls were awesome. Service were good. Very nice terrasse right next to the river. Back entrance has access to the canal lock boardwalk for a nice stroll after lunch or dinner. Very enjoyable, would go again.View more
The best Thai food in the West Island! Fresh ingredients & good view to the Chanel.
Mon conjoint & moi avons effectué une commande sur place. Tout d'abord, nous sommes repartis avec notre commande dans une boîte au lieu de sacs pour protéger les aliments. Nous avions les rouleaux impériaux & les calmars frits à l'air. Ensuite, les portions étaient très petites pour le prix. Le riz avait des allures de plastique. Vraiment difficile d'en prendre une cuillérée. Les grains étaient tous pris ensemble, ce qui donnait l'impression d'un fond de casserole. Les calmars ressemblaient à des calmars congelés, sans goût. La soupe Tom Yum était un liquide qui ressemblait à bouillon de légumes de couleur brune. Il y avait au maximum 6 crevettes dans le plat de crevettes sel & poivre, le reste était des légumes vapeur pas assez cuits. Le général Tao n'était pas très croustillant & il y en avait très peu. Le repas était si décevant que nous avons décidé de faire quelque chose que nous n'avons jamais fait auparavant : contacter le propriétaire pour lui en parler! Nous comprenions que nous avions fait notre commande près de 19h00, en temps de pandémie, ce qui laissait peut-être peu de temps pour faire la nourriture. Nous n'avions aucune autre attente que d'informer le propriétaire. Le lendemain, j'ai donc eu une conversation courtoise, mais honnête avec la propriétaire. J'ai simplement exprimé ma déception. Elle avait une explication pour tous mes commentaires sur les plats. Puis, elle a expliqué que le restaurant est ouvert depuis des années & qu'ils possèdent une clientèle solide qui aiment comment ils font les choses. Au final, elle était désolée pour moi. Bref, pour nous, PLUS JAMAIS!!!
Wow! Le service est toujours excellent & que dire de la nourriture! Elle est toujours délicieuse. Je recommande ce restaurant!
Un petit resto dans un petit coin de pays qui est agréable de découvrir l’été. Il n’y a pas d’ambiance dans le restaurant, c’est très froid. Ce n’est pas un resto romantique, les tables sont très très près l’une de l’autre, la lumière est très présente… bref, si vous cherchez un resto romantique, ce n’est pas la place.
Le choix pour la table d’hôte est de 4 plats, c’est quelque peu décevant. Il faut donc se rabattre sur le menu à la carte qui monte rapidement.
La soupe won ton n’a pas de saveur & la portion, pour 5$ est vraiment très petite. Les 3 petits rouleaux impériaux sont vraiment succulents, entrée à 5$. L’assiette de crevettes aux arachides & légumes 18$ est délicieuse, il y a beaucoup de légumes & plusieurs crevettes & la portion est vraiment bonne. Par contre, ni le riz ni le vermicelle n’est inclus dans votre repas, le bol coûte 3$.
Un excellent service attentionné & sympathique. La salle de bain pour hommes est au 2e étage & l’escalier est très à pic tant pour monter que pour descendre.
La facture monte rapidement surtout si vous prenez une bouteille de vin… il nous en a coûté 105.72$ avant pourboire pour 2 soupes won ton, 2 entrées de rouleaux impériaux, 2 assiettes de crevettes aux arachides & légumes, 2 bols de vermicelles, une bouteille de vin. Quant à nous, nous trouvons cela un peu cher.
Manger sur la terrasse est tout simplement romantique, la vue est très belle.
TERRIBLE SERVICE!
Went with a group for a birthday & waiter DEMANDED that I give her a greater tip (for service that was substantially below a minimal expectation). She began to yell at my sister & I & told us to "put ourselves in her shoes". Boyfriend made it clear to her that we would not be adding to the already 15% tip, to which she told us to "never come back" & then proceeded to tell the rest of our group how rude we were.
Food was mediocre, VERY SMALL PORTIONS NOT WORTH THE PRICE.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND & WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK!

La serveuse, une certaine Sarbina, était très attentionnée, & je prévois y retourner bientôt !
Nourriture excellente. Les assiettes sont savoureuses & faites pour plaire. Le Général Tao était très bon & le service attentif. Note négative : nous étions quatre adultes réunis pour souligner un anniversaire. Nous sommes arrivés vers 6:45 pour nous assurer d'une table sur la terrasse. Nous finissions nos consommations & café en bavardant quelques minutes après un agréable repas en agréable compagnie, lorsqu'une dame, possiblement la propriétaire nous a demandé de laisser notre table à de pauvres gens qui attendaient depuis une demi heure. Il était 8:15. Désolée, mais ça ne passe pas . Elle a jeté un bémol sur une belle soirée.
I dine at Chalet Thai regularly for lunch or dinner service & quite enjoy the Papaya Salad & Char Oeuk beef #93 & sticky rice. The cold spring rolls & dumplings are fantastic. The curries are good, but not always spicy. You have to ask for the spice if you want it really spicy :) The food has always been fresh & the service is consistently good.
This place was absolutely amazing! My husband & I come from Ottawa, Ontario & we came here for our 1st year Wedding Anniversary & we couldn't have picked a better spot. Food was fantastic,we had a lot of appetizers then waited & went for our main course. We had Papaya Salad, Escargots, Squid, Imperial Rolls, Crispy Shrimp for our appetizers & they were all fantastic! I highly recommend them. For our main course I had the Green Curry Duck & my husband had the Seafood with sticky rice. Man were they ever good! It was so good that my husband decided that he was going to order a plate of Green Curry Duck as well. Everything was wonderful! The only thing is the selection of beer. Everything else was top notch. The ambiance was really nice & we had a beautiful view of all the yachts & different boats in the water. Even though it would rain & the sky wasn't blue & sunny it was still beautiful. Our waiter, Peter was very nice & accommodating & because it was our anniversary he gave us a nice slice of Chocolate Mousse Cake which was also very good! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience Chalet Thai! We will definitely be returning the next time we visit St Anne De Bellevue. 5/5
This is not "Fine cuisine Thailandaise" as they advertise on their business card. A fast food shopping mall type of eating experience perhaps; but then again my wife & I have eaten better at one of those food court eateries in Fairview or Carrefour Laval than we ate here. My wife & I decided to order different dishes & share.
For starters the tiny Imperial Rolls looked & tasted more like little crispy cigars than genuine Thai Imperial Rolls. The typical sweet & sour dipping sauce was bland & there was hardly any lettuce. The General Tao Chicken was extremely disappointing. A small portion of little strips of chicken covered in a crispy batter & sweet sauce did not taste or look remotely like the General Tao Chicken we've grown accustomed to being served in other better quality Thai restaurants.
Fortunately, we ordered a side order of Fried Chicken Rice & Mixed Garlic Vegetables & Tofu, which wasn't bad, otherwise we would have left the restaurant still hungry. None of the main dishes come with anything else. Overall, we found the preparation, spices, sauces, food portions & general appearance of the food not very sophisticated & certainly not at the level of "fine cuisine." Plus, considering the quality & quantity of the food, it was somewhat pricey.
Yes, it's true there's a nice view overlooking the water, but hey, my wife & I can pack a good lunch, a great bottle of wine & head for a nice lakeside view at many locations in & around Montreal for a fraction of the cost. The bottom line is when a restaurant advertises themselves as serving "Fine cuisine Thailandaise" it needs to deliver the goods. In other words, it had better have more than just a nice view, or else the owners will be the only ones enjoying the view as people will just search for the real deal some place else. My wife & I will certainly be doing exactly that.
have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time now. Unfortunately, I was somewhat dissapointed. It is small & in a tight spot so it is better suited for groups of 4 or 6 & not 2 as it can become hard yo hear each other (not a romantic destination)
I had to laugh when I received my daquiri as it came in a 2 oz. size goblet (& was not very good at $6)
The food was ok but we really went for the duck which was slightly hard & gray in color.
The shrimp with cashew was good though.
We were told that they were busy & that that they had a second sitting that evening & actually told us to order fast so we could leave, LOL!
Perhaps the problem is that we were lucky in always getting our Thai food at the "Faubourg" at Bangkok & nothing ever seems to come close in terms of price & quality.
Don't think I will be returning.
Small portions. Tried the general Tao chicken. Too sweet, & over fried thin strips of chicken for our taste. Red curry duck with vegetables were a better choice, flavor is right, duck strips a bit tough to digest. We recommend red curry chicken instead.
Tom yam shrimp soup was alright. The view was fantastic, outdoor terrace with views of boats passing by. Our waitress was excellent, experienced, friendly & attentative in spite of the busy supper crowd.
Excellent food. Only thing is it will never be spicy even if you ask for your meal to be extra spicy!
This is a great Thai restaurant. Food is very well prepared, portions are very generous. Service is OK - depends on the waiter. Try their carries, it's great. Don't miss choclate mousse cake - it's not Thai of course, but all the same it's great.
It's a great value restaurant. In summer it's very nice to have a table at the terrace.
