About

Maison du Cari des Caraïbes delivers authentic Caribbean flavors characterized by robust spice profiles and slow-cooked protein preparations. The kitchen specializes in traditional curry dishes that balance aromatic warmth with tender textures, often served alongside fragrant rice and savory legumes. House-made sauces emphasize fresh scotch bonnet peppers and signature spice blends to define each distinct dish. Patrons encounter a straightforward environment focused on the delivery of genuine island culinary techniques and hearty portions. This establishment highlights regional staples like jerk-spiced meats and plantain sides prepared to maintain the integrity of Caribbean traditions. The focus remains on consistent ingredient quality and the technical execution of classic island recipes that prioritize deep, savory profiles over elaborate presentation. Every component of the menu reflects a commitment to the foundational pillars of tropical comfort cooking.

Review Summary

Maison du Cari des Caraïbes is widely recognized as a top destination in Montreal for authentic Caribbean cuisine, particularly its highly praised roti, oxtail, and patties. Many patrons highlight the generous portions, affordable prices, and delicious flavors that have defined the experience for years. While many guests enjoy the welcoming service and consistent quality, recent reviews reveal a divided sentiment, with some diners noting inconsistencies in food temperature, flavor profiles, and management. Although some visitors feel the establishment remains a must-visit for home-cooked style meals, others have expressed disappointment regarding recent changes in ownership and service standards, suggesting that the experience can vary significantly depending on the timing of the visit.

Definitely changed & not for the better. I used to go there when I was younger & the food was always on point. It's been a few years since I've been there & decided to take my kids, I got the oxtail stew chicken & curry chicken plates..the only decent thing was the oxtail. Nausea hit hard after we ate. My kids didn't enjoy the food at all. Will never go back.

From the Caribbean, the curry goat roti was & the pepper sauce! The doubles were good as well!

I am always vex with myself when I buy curry here. Doubles tasted yuck. Bara was tough, channa hard, seasoning not good. Chicken roti was a waste of money, since my child, (who loves a good roti) refused to eat it.
Sorry, but this time I had to leave a review.

We spent a genuinely wonderful time throughout the gathering today. The food options were highly savory, & everyone present was so sweet. The team was exceptionally welcoming during our visit. On the whole, it was a beautiful event that combined respectable quality with practical expenses.

J'achète à cet endroit depuis tellement longtemps, tout est toujours bon. Mais aujourd'hui: la déception totale! Le goat roti immangeable ! J'espère que ce fût l'expérience d'un jour & que tout reviendra à la normale...

I just ordered jerk chicken & it was inedible. The plate was all over the place & all mixed up. The salad was mixed with the rice. I had to throw it away & get a refund from Uber Eats thanks to the restaurant's poor food quality & service. It was not the fault of the driver. Definitely will never order from here again & will telling friends & family to do the same!

I came on a tuesday evening; lots of seating & had my plate in 5 minutes. Food was delicious & reasonably priced: 35$ including standard tips…I was not even offered a glass of water with my meal, no ambiance, no music & no'is everything good?'.
It was very underwhelming. Hands down, It's a great restaurant but…for take-out.
