Bootlegger Cocktail Bar & Cuisine est largement salué pour ses cocktails créatifs, une excellente sélection de whiskies et une ambiance speakeasy accueillante avec un service attentif; le lieu offre des cocktails bien équilibrés, des huîtres en happy hour et une atmosphère chaleureuse et intime qui en fait une adresse idéale pour un rendez vous, entre amis ou un moment plus posé, agrémentée de concerts de jazz live le dimanche. Certaines notes mentionnent un service parfois irrégulier ou lent, des prix élevés et des incohérences dans certains plats, mais dans l'ensemble l'impression générale est celle d'un endroit unique et remarquable, un vrai coup de cœur pour les amateurs de cocktails et pour l'ambiance rétro.
We stumbled into Bootlegger without knowing it was Jazz night, & were instantly transported to the Prohibition Age! What a cozy, lovely spot for drinks; I got the le nuit cocktail, & it was a genuine feast for the senses. The coconut sugar added such a beautiful textural dimension to the drink, I wanted to lick the glass clean!
The jazz musicians were fantastic & the staff were all so helpful & sweet. I would love to come back to try the food here! Cannot recommend enough.
Ok so as a top mtl guide I rarely these days find gems like this that really meet my expectation to this point. First off a big thank you to Remus for his amazing service & great drinks suggestions. Give that nice guy a free drink on the house for his good service. Secondly, the place was super cozy. The food was really hitting the spot for me, simple, but many flavors & with the drinks they were awesome. I will say most bars I've been to in mtl have very simple finger foods so to see a bar have a nice resto menu was really awesome! I am going to be back here many times, I really enjoyed it. I did a reservation the day of & it was quiet, so I was really happy, but other days there may be many people.

Was recommended the place from some people in the city, & wow am I glad we listened. Such a warm & intriguing atmosphere with live music (at least the night we went) & the open kitchen was fun to peak over at time to time. Food & drinks were outstanding, & service was welcoming & laid back - making it a very comfortable & fun night out while visiting.
Had such a great night at Bootlegger. The vibe is exactly what you want from a speakeasy, low lighting, great music, & just an overall cool atmosphere without trying too hard.
Big shoutout to our server Remus, who honestly made the whole experience. He wasn't just taking orders, he took the time to explain the drinks, share some of the history behind them, & help us pick things we'd actually enjoy. You can tell he really knows his stuff & cares about what he's doing, which made a huge difference.
Everything from the cocktails to the ambiance was on point. Definitely one of the best spots I've been to in Montreal lately. Would 100% go back.

Had a fantastic time at bootlegger on a friday night! Easy to get a reservation, music was great, drinks were delicious, & the pulled pork nachos were the best nachos we've ever had! Would definitely come back.
From recommending +SS tier drinks (apple-pie old fashion = #1 drink in my life) to dropping elite bombs of knowledge, this place did not let us down for my buddies bachelor party.

Un véritable bijou pour les amateurs de whisky & de cocktails. La sélection est impressionnante, avec des bouteilles rares & des créations parfaitement maîtrisées. Chaque cocktail est équilibré avec précision, on sent le souci du détail.
Mais ce qui fait vraiment la différence, c'est le service. Chris, le patron, est passionné, accueillant & connaît son métier sur le bout des doigts. Il prend le temps de conseiller, de partager ses découvertes & de créer une vraie expérience, pas juste un verre.
L'ambiance est élégante sans être prétentieuse - parfaite pour une soirée entre amis ou un moment plus posé. Clairement une adresse incontournable.
A true gem for whisky & cocktail lovers. The selection is outstanding, featuring rare bottles & expertly crafted drinks. Every cocktail is perfectly balanced - you can really feel the attention to detail.

The atmosphere is refined without being pretentious - perfect for a night out or a more relaxed evening. Definitely a must-visit spot.
The drinks were beautifully presented & the ambiance was truly lovely. However, I ordered a dirty martini &, unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The gin had an unexpectedly harsh, almost cinnamon-like flavor that overpowered the cocktail, making it undrinkable for my taste. To add to the surprise, I was charged an additional $6 for the olive brine - which felt excessive.

Les cocktails étaient magnifiquement présentés & l'ambiance était vraiment agréable. Cependant, j'ai commandé un dirty martini &, malheureusement, j'ai été déçue. Le gin avait une saveur étonnamment forte, presque cannélée, qui dominait complètement le cocktail & le rendait difficile à boire à mon goût. De plus, on m'a facturé 6 $ supplémentaires pour la saumure d'olive - ce qui m'a semblé excessif.
