About us

For more than 35 years, the restaurant Au Tarot has established itself as the best Mediterranean restaurant in Montreal. The restaurant Au Tarot is at once an Algerian restaurant, a Moroccan restaurant, and a Tunisian restaurant, as it marries all the cuisine of the Maghreb. To save you the effort of cooking, the restaurant offers free delivery of its fresh traditional dishes, cooked every day with care. Takeout meals are also available. Consult the chef for special delivery during events, weddings, film shoots, office parties, etc.

The chef-owner, Nouredine Kara, demanding and a perfectionist, does his own shopping by selecting the best fresh products from the market every day. He oversees everything: from the preparation of the semolina to the homemade production of the merguez; from the perfect composition of the tagines (which are undoubtedly the best in Montreal), to the warm and affable welcome of all customers. One often encounters many personalities from the world of arts, business, or politics at the restaurant, who are loyal fans of tagines, pastillas, and couscous, as well as the charm that reigns here.

Très conviviale comme restaurant ! Le chef est génial & surtout très généreux !

mes invités & moi-même avons beaucoup apprécié tout ce que nous avions commandé. La salade Tarot pour 4 servie dans un grand plat ouvrait bien l'appétit. Suffisante pour 4. & les tajines, , toutes différentes que nous avions commanées, délicieuses & copieuses pour nos appétits. Un doggy bag m'a permis aujourd'hui, de manger tous les restes. Mes invités n'auront pas l'occsion de revenir avant l'an prochain mais ce sera différent pour moi qui demeure à quelques pas de votre restaurent.
Bruyant comme tous les restos , accueuil chaleureux & excellent service. Merci!

It was our first time at Au Tarot, we all enjoyed our dinner tremendously. The service was great, the food very plentiful & very tasty!!! We found the tasting menu to be a great option...& very much recommend the restaurant.

Nous avons eu un excellent souper. Le repas était savoureux & en portion très généreuse. Nous avons pu rapporter à la maison ce qui restait ( pas de gaspillage).
La salade du Tarot en entrée était exceptionnellement savoiureuse. Le repas principal vraiment délicieux & tout ça, à un prix très raisonnable.
L'accueil, l'ambiance & le service très cool. On y retournera très certainement, en famille & avec des amis.
Un Resto à découvrir ou à redécouvrir.

Nous avons adoré ce restaurant & nous comptons y retourner bientôt. Leur salade maison & leur couscous sont incroyables. Parmi les meilleurs que nous avons mangés. Nous avons également eu accès à un stationnement en le demandant lors de la réservation. Le personnel était très gentil.

Super bon !!J'ai adoré très très bon ,j'ai eu un des meilleurs services, à vie.Il nous donne un très bon service , ils sont attentionné. Leurs tajine est divin & servi avec politesse .On manque de rien (eau vin café)la viande est très tendre un délice pour la bouche
