About us

For more than 35 years, the restaurant Au Tarot has established itself as the best Mediterranean restaurant in Montreal. The restaurant Au Tarot is at once an Algerian restaurant, a Moroccan restaurant, and a Tunisian restaurant, as it marries all the cuisine of the Maghreb. To save you the effort of cooking, the restaurant offers free delivery of its fresh traditional dishes, cooked every day with care. Takeout meals are also available. Consult the chef for special delivery during events, weddings, film shoots, office parties, etc.

The chef-owner, Nouredine Kara, demanding and a perfectionist, does his own shopping by selecting the best fresh products from the market every day. He oversees everything: from the preparation of the semolina to the homemade production of the merguez; from the perfect composition of the tagines (which are undoubtedly the best in Montreal), to the warm and affable welcome of all customers. One often encounters many personalities from the world of arts, business, or politics at the restaurant, who are loyal fans of tagines, pastillas, and couscous, as well as the charm that reigns here.

Le couscous est correct sans plus...

Le jarret d'agneau était tendre mais le bouillon avec les légumes n'avait pas beaucoup de goût. Beaucoup de branches de céleri filandreuses, idem pour les rutabagas. Deux ou trois morceaux d'aubergine perdus au milieu des céleris & des rutabagas, voilà pour le bouillon.

Les portions sont généreuses mais la qualité n'y est pas. Le service est rapide & agréable.

Un endroit dont il faut se souvenir. En affaires depuis plus de 40 ans. A gardé les recettes de couscous parmi les meilleures de Montréal. Très bel accueil. Ambiance bon enfant

Très bonne soirée : enfin un restaurant calme à ambiance feutrée. Belle variété de couscous sur la carte. Le patron est charmant très accueillant. Il nous a bien conseillé. Bon rapport qualité prix.

Accueil très chaleureux, portion de couscous généreuse, nous avons pris le couscous qui était délicieux, le patron nous a resservi viande & couscous nous disant que c'était a volonté.
Très belle soirée à prix très intéressant puisque qu'on amène son vin .
