For more than 35 years, the restaurant Au Tarot has established itself as the best Mediterranean restaurant in Montreal. The restaurant Au Tarot is at once an Algerian restaurant, a Moroccan restaurant, and a Tunisian restaurant, as it marries all the cuisine of the Maghreb. To save you the effort of cooking, the restaurant offers free delivery of its fresh traditional dishes, cooked every day with care. Takeout meals are also available. Consult the chef for special delivery during events, weddings, film shoots, office parties, etc.

The chef-owner, Nouredine Kara, demanding and a perfectionist, does his own shopping by selecting the best fresh products from the market every day. He oversees everything: from the preparation of the semolina to the homemade production of the merguez; from the perfect composition of the tagines (which are undoubtedly the best in Montreal), to the warm and affable welcome of all customers. One often encounters many personalities from the world of arts, business, or politics at the restaurant, who are loyal fans of tagines, pastillas, and couscous, as well as the charm that reigns here.

Lamb & merguez are excellent. Great portions. The staff (owner?) was incredibly friendly & welcoming. We felt like we were invited into his home for a hearty meal.

Really enjoyed the food here, the Lamb & Prune Tajin was my favourite, a bit pricey but quality is great & portions huge & you can bring your own wine. The owner was a nice & friendly guy, there is a nice vibe to it!

Couscous exceptionnel & très généreux (il y en a pour deux)! Restaurant qui n'attire pas l'oeil de l'extérieur mais ça vaut le détour ! Les tenants sont très serviables & le propriétaire est là ddpuis plus de 40 ans! Mention spéciale pour le thé que l'on m'a offert à la fin du repas, lui aussi délicieux! Bref, je laisse d'habitude très peu d'avis Google (cela doit être mon 3e alors que j'utilise google depuis plus de 10 ans) mais là je me sentais obligé pour que ce Restaurant soit plus connu, puisqu'il le mérite !
