About

Amara serves authentic Lebanese cuisine focusing on traditional flavor profiles and fresh ingredients. The menu highlights classic mezze selections including creamy hummus, smoky baba ghanouj, and crisp falafel prepared with aromatic spice blends. Hearty grilled meat platters feature marinated tawook skewers and seasoned kafta served alongside fragrant rice or warm pita bread. The kitchen emphasizes time-honored cooking techniques that produce deep textures and balanced acidity across every dish. Fresh vegetable salads tossed in zesty lemon and olive oil vinaigrettes accompany savory pastries filled with spinach or melted cheese. The functional setting centers on the delivery of consistent, high-quality plates that represent the core pillars of Levantine gastronomy. Diners engage with a menu designed to showcase the inherent richness of Mediterranean culinary staples through simple and effective preparation methods.

Review Summary

Amara offers a polarizing dining experience following its recent change in ownership and renovations. While many patrons praise the restaurant for its fresh, flavorful shawarma, generous portions, and welcoming atmosphere, others express disappointment regarding increased prices, smaller servings, and inconsistent quality compared to the past. The majority of feedback highlights the establishment as a clean, friendly, and authentic destination for Lebanese cuisine, though a segment of customers remains critical of recent operational shifts and occasional issues with food preparation or delivery service.

I've been ordering Lebanese food from this restaurant for a long time, & it recently came under new ownership. The restaurant has been completely renovated, & the place is now very clean, modern, & welcoming. The new owner is very friendly, kind, & attentive.

The food is fresh, delicious, & offers a more variety of authentic Lebanese dishes. The portions are a little smaller than they used to be under the previous owner, but they are still generous enough, & the prices are very reasonable for the quality & quantity. Hopefully the portions will become a bit bigger in the future! 😊

Overall, we had a great experience & will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fresh & authentic Lebanese food!

I used to come to Amara all the time when I was younger, so I was excited (& a little nervous) to try it again under the new ownership.

Yes, there's a new owner. & yes, the portions are a little smaller than what I remember. But honestly? After one bite, I didn't even care. The food is incredible. It reminds me so much of the food we eat back home in Lebanon-simple, authentic, & full of flavor. You can really tell everything is made with quality ingredients & a lot of care.

People get so caught up in portion sizes, but for me, it's never been about the quantity-it's about the quality. I'd rather have an amazing meal than a huge one that lacks flavor.

The new owner has really brought new life to Amara. The restaurant feels refreshed, the menu has some great new options, & most importantly, they stayed true to authentic Lebanese cuisine. If you haven't been since the change in ownership, I'd definitely recommend giving it another chance. I know I'll be back.

It pains me to leave this review. Amara was a titan of Lebanese cuisine in Montreal. It had the best plates, best portion sizes , best potatoes & garlic sauce... The list goes on. Been a regular for over 10+ years, it was such a staple for my friends & I.

Tried it after the ownership change & I was unpleased. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they haven't fully established themselves.

My second takeout order felt more of the same. The Amara we once knew is gone & it hurts.

The portion sizes have gotten smaller which is apparent from the takeout container. The prices however increased, partly due to the Reno's done in store & ownership markup. Double dipping by reducing size & increasing price.

The potatoes are awful. They used to be the best part of the meal. They are now over seasoned, at times spicy at times salty. It's so hard to find one that's just right.

The loose chicken also seems to be cut thinner, used to get larger pieces on the plate, nowadays it feels like I'm getting minced paper.

Whatever the case, I will always cherish the memories created at Amara & the countless meals it provided. I genuinely hope that I can edit this review one day to put it back as a 5 star, but until then I'm sorry Amara.

Unfortunately this place will no longer be a regular for me. I went by today, ordered 2 platters & they came in smaller containers with not even close to what was served with the previous owners. Found out the place has been sold to new ownership. Quality as well as quantity have gone down significantly. Will def try something new. So unfortunate as I really loved the food there & the portion sizes which would last days. NGL. Today's portion wasn't even felt. Guys switch back to the original size!! Bye Amara…

The food is where Amara truly shines. Every dish is prepared with fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, & remarkable consistency. The grilled meats are tender & perfectly seasoned, the shawarma is packed with flavor, & the homemade garlic sauce is simply addictive. Their hummus, fattoush, tabbouleh, & traditional Lebanese appetizers showcase the quality & freshness that define great Lebanese cuisine.
What sets Amara apart is not only the quality of the food but also the overall experience. The portions are generous, the presentation is beautiful, & the service is attentive, friendly, & genuinely welcoming. You can tell that customer satisfaction is a priority, & it shows in every interaction.
In a region with many dining options, Amara has quickly established itself as one of the top culinary destinations for Lebanese food lovers. Whether you're already a fan of Lebanese cuisine or trying it for the first time, Amara delivers an experience that will keep you coming back. The new ownership has done an exceptional job bringing new energy to an already beloved establishment, & the results speak for themselves.
Without hesitation, I can say that Amara is the best Lebanese restaurant in Littleton. It's the kind of place that reminds you why great food & genuine hospitality matter. A true local gem, & absolutely worth the detour.
