Je me serais attendu à de la qualité extrême vu leur prix extrême. Mon rib steak et toutes les autres viandes de mes convives nous ont déçu. Pas juteux à souhait, tendreté décevante et respect de la cuisson inégalé. Tous ont demandé médium-saignant leur viande... mais 2 personnes sur 4 ont reçu leur viande médium, voire médium-bien cuit. INACCEPTABLE ! Ces assiettes ont dû être retourné.
Leur sauce d'accompagnement ressemblait à une préparation de sauce en sachet tellement qu'elle n'avait rien de raffinée. Pas fort !
C'était ma toute première expérience... et ma dernière.
Service : Bien exécuté... sans plus.
Les steaks sont ok sans plus. Le service en général est très bien et les lieux sont très beaux. Souvent les sauces en accomoagnement sont à refaire. Les entrés sont pour la plupart très bien
We went there to have the châteaubriant, what a disappointment. They would usually prepare this dish at the table. They negleted all that. When I asked the waiter about my expectation, he said they were too busy for that and to complain to the manager.
He was rude and didn't care.
As for the dish itself, it was missing taste .
Also the presentation in the plate itself was very poor.
I'm very disappointed. It was very overpriced and not worth it.
J'aime bien aller quelques fois par année dans ce bon vieux steakhouse qui nous rappel avec ses banquettes la classe d'autrefois. Le service est toujours impeccable et il règne une ambiance spéciale qui nous donne le goût de revenir ce faire traiter aux petits oignons.
Rien de mieux qu'un bon repas copieux et d'aller finir le tout avec un bon vieux Scotch au cigar lounge!

L'agneau servi à la Fete des restos hier a été une belle découverte! Superbe cuisson, tendre à souhait et savoureux!

Everything about this place is very posh, very clean, very service oriented. The is the best steakhouse experience I have had in years.
To be honest I was hoping to go try the other place with a strange name about a pony tail, but that spot was not reopened yet.
I was told that the restaurant Rib n Reef has been a well known favourite for many many years. One of the people I met for business 2 weeks ago told me that she used to come here for their roast beef, every week for years.
I can understand why. I had to try it. I also tasted a forkful of filet mignon. The bearnaise sauce was out of this world.
Montrealers are spoiled spoiled spoiled.
You do not know how lucky you are with all of these choices of good restaurants.
The cesar sald was made at the table. Have not seen that since my Las Vegas. All in all, a very satisfying lunch.
Have recommended it to all of my friends in Pennsylvania.
I went there on Feb 15th with my girlfriend for a valentine's dinner and we were both unhappy with our experience. I've been to Rib N Reef once before and it was good, but this time around our waitress was rude, the 28$ ceasar salad was NOT good (they didn't charge me for it since we didn't eat it). Now for the best part we waited close to 2 hours to get our main dishes! I took a 14 ounce steak cooked medium and my girlfriend got the 10 oz Filet mignon medium rare, hers was beyond rare...she couldn't eat it. For 2 people, ended up being 160$ with tax and tip (NO WINE!!).
The worst part was how rude they were to me, after telling them I wanted to see a manager, my waitress told one of her friends (another waiter) he returned shortly and tells me out loud oh don't worry ill throw in desert on me(in a very rude tone). After paying 160 for possibly my worst dining experience it's pretty clear I will never be returning.
Well you do get what you pay for ! Both the food and service are excellent but the bill is not for the faint of heart.
Just about anything on the menu is good with attentive service and explanations of every item.
Maybe if I win a multimillion lottery it might become a stable in my choices, however with nearly 4,000 other restaurants in Montreal there are other more affordable choices.
From the moment you step inside Rib N Reef, you know youre in for a treat; the service is welcoming and the decor is elegant. My family and I recently went to celebrate a birthday, so obviously we went all out! We started off the meal with a bottle of white wine, that the waiter kindly suggested, and then ordered some appetizers. I ordered the Caesar salad; if youve been to The Rib before, then you already know that its prepared table-side. Not only was it entertaining to watch the waiter intricately prepare the salad before our eyes (the mayonnaise is made from scratch!), it was also delicious! For my main course, I had the scallops, and they were cooked perfectly, and tasted amazing! Of course, since I was there with family, we each had some samples of each others plates; each meal was succulent, and packed with flavour. Clearly, The Rib does both surf AND turf very well! Overall, dinner at The Rib was a great experience; the staff was efficient, quick, and very friendly! I will DEFINETLY be back!
This place is extremely pretentious. Food is mediocre at best and, for what you get, it is EXTREMELY expensive. Nice ambiance in the whole restaurant but the waiters we had were pretty snobby. Nothing really stuck out in the steak I had. It was tender and all but was not worth what I paid for it. I've eaten better steaks at less than half the price at other restaurants. I do not recommend this place to anyone and will never return. I wouldn't even go back if someone paid for me.
Je suis allé a plusieurs steakhouse a montreal, certains etaient bon d'autres mauvais, puis je peux vous assurer que Rib'n reef est l'un des meilleurs. Les employés etaient extraordinaires, la nourriture était delicieuse et l'environnement était tres agreable. Je n'ai que des bons commentaires a dire sur a propos de ce restuarant. Si vous chercher une place qui a un menu delicieux, un tres bon service et une tres belle ambiance, c'est la place a aller!!
Tout était si parfait, à partir du moment où nous sommes entrés dans la place jusqu'à la toute dernière minute avant de quitter le lieu. La décoration et les employés accueillants souriants ont tout pour vous faire sentir uniques et jet-set. La nourriture était 5 étoiles. Nous avons eu une super salade César fait à partir de zéro en face de nous, cet césar n'a rien à voir avec aucune autre césar que nous avions eu avant. Puis nous nous sommes fait suggéré buf Rôti ... Oh.. la.. LA! Le meilleur morceau de viande que je n'ai jamais eu! Tendre, juteux, rempli de saveurs et de goûts! 5 ÉTOILES!
Hier soir nous sommes allés pour la première fois manger chez RibN Reef. Entre autre, au menu il y avait une panoplie de choix de poissons en filet ou entier. Moi jai pris la dorade qui était exquise et des plus fraîches. Par contre la cuisson du steak de mon chum nétait pas tout-a-fait à points, mais le serveur Daniel (charmant, efficace et vraiment professionnel) la rassuré et avec le sourire lui en a apporté un autre cuit à la perfection cette fois. Nous avons apprécié le service de valet par contre nous nous sommes sentis un peu trop sollicités par le valet pour le pourboire. À part cela, bien que peu cher, nous sommes vraiment enchantés sur toute la ligne et nous y retournerons assurément.
Jai adoré ce restaurant surtout pour latmosphère et le service. Les vins, les viandes et les poissons, tout est superbe. Je vais y retourner, cest sûr.
On a mangé comme des rois! L'assiette de fruits de mer est "gorgous". Elle se laisse déguster aussi avec les yeux. Bravo! Je recommande déjà ce resto à mes amis!
Last week my wife and I celebrated my birthday there and we had a beautiful evening. We had the crab cake and fried calamari for apet. and rib steaks for main course,,,,,, really number one.
Service was very good and we sure are going back, wait wait wait, I was forgetting the crepe suzette flambe for dessert done at the table, fantastic show. Very romantic.
Great experience in a friendly and efficient service the Rib 'n'Reef. We start with famous ceasar salad and it was made at our table , it was fantastic.After,we chose the rib steak..It was delicious, It was cook perfectly . The waiter suggest the Monte Carlo Potatoe it was delicious.The atmosphere was great, we look forward to returning to this restaurant. We conclude this evening at the cigar lounge, it was fantastic! Thank you to all the staff for this wonderful evening!

Perfect service: I had several waiters at all times treating us like kings and queens. The steak is incredible, the fish was perfect and the grilled octopus was sooo tasty. This is a classic, the true steakhouse. Salty tab but well worth the price in my book. Luxurious and perfect.
We went in there the first time with family. After waiting for 5 minutes, a hostess came and told us that the waiting time is about 1-2 hours, even though there were empty seats available and it was almost 9pm. Unfortunately, we were dressed in shorts and tshirts, so it might be the polite reason for telling us that we don't want to have you in our restaurant. We didn't want to wait, so we left, and as we leave, the parking attendant (which didn't park our car or did anything for that matter) requested 2$ per cars. Basically, we didn't have a good first impression. The next day, me and my gf decided to give it a try (regardless of the bad first impression) and we dressed like business man and woman. Unlike the first time, we were seated and served properly. I also decided to park on the streets so that I don't have to pay the parking attendant. The food was ok, but not worth the price of admission. Service was good though.
