I ordered the escargots & was surprised to see the plate covered with pieces of mushrooms...The Cesar salad was good but the dressing came from a bottle. Service was extremely slow (the restaurant was full & only had one waiter). Prices a bit steep for what they have to offer. This was my second visit.

Decor out of date small dessert like looking menus with very little choice. ... Not even 5 min looking at the menu the waiter is asking us if we are ready to order & he sees that all are menus are still opened.. The owner was sitting a few tables down watching tv in the dinning area the entire time... The pizza was ok buns were STALE,,, arabiatta pasta & muscle pasta was AWFUL!! but the best was when my friend had as for cheese for her pasta the waiter came with Romano telling us he had to run to the store cause he ran out of cheese so he bough Romano ? Awkward !!! Oh didn't offer us dessert or coffee asked if we were finish & brought .....

My husband & I had been looking for decent pizza in NDG. We wanted New York style, greasy but tasty. We tried a few places but we were disappointed. I decided to try Mamma Mia as everyone I know raves about their food. We were not disappointed. The pizza is DELICIOUS. In one week we have ordered Mamma Mia 3 times. I can not comment on the service as we do take out. However, they deliver quickly & their prices are very reasonable.
This was such a big disappointment! I had been driving past this restaurant for decades & finally decided to go in for a bite.
The service was slow, the place was dingy & the food tasted as though it were microwaved.
I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I have heard similar reviews from friends of mine but this was my first-hand experience.
Last week I had the displeasure of taking my family to Mama Mia for dinner.
There were 10 tables being waited on by one waiter (who was also taking care of all the takeout orders that were being picked up).
Due to the long wait & poor service, I saw at least three couples get up in different stages of their meals & walk out in anger.
I also saw two other table give the waiter a piece of their mind in a very vocal manner which culminated in an ultimatum to bring the food or they would be out of there.
After waiting 75min for our main course, I myself had to walk into the kitchen to complain. 15min later the food came out. Of course my veal marsala was stone cold!
Since the experience was so bad, I decided to call the owner 2 days later to discuss the experience. When I went over the events of the evening with him he was neither surprised or apologetic. All he said was that they had 2 cooks in the kitchen & that service that night was "normal".
Last time we ever eat there, stay away!
