Big portions alert. We had the sweet potato fries & spinach artichoke dip, they were so good! The main were lamb sliders (seasonal) & BBQ shrimps. They were an absolute delight! Super fast & friendly service. Don't forget to check their menu out! We've been coming & will be coming back again!Voir plus
They used to get gator but now they don't. If they had gator it would have been a 5star.... To serve'traditional' food without the Gator is sucky ...Voir plus
Just a great neighbourhood place with amazing service!Voir plus
Been coming here for 15 years on & off, ALWAYS delicious, always.Voir plus
Great service, amazing meal ! We came in without a reservation & the staff was so kind to fit us in. Food delicious !Voir plus
Always a joy to come here. Great Cajun cuisine, & nice cocktails to start. One of the places we go for birthdays & anniversaries. One of my favorites.Voir plus
Had an amazing dinner with a friend last night. We were 45 mins late due to a car issue but they graciously accepted us anyway even though when we arrived it was near closing. The service was perfect & our server was so friendly! My friend & I both had the Hurricane drink & it tasted just like the one I had in New Orleans, very tasty & full of rum! The food we had was also AMAZING! We had the hush puppies, spinach dip, blackened chicken & bbq shrimp & it was all delicious. We're looking to go back next weekend lolVoir plus
Hadn’t been here in while (probably just before COVID lockdowns) had always enjoyed previously so decided to give a try. To sum it up average to disappointing. They seem to have lost their mojo. We were 2 couples, we all had crab cakes for app I had the famous fried chicken, 2 people had the shrimp & 1 had the firecracker shrimp (nice of them to make it, it’s no longer on the menu) & we finished with bread pudding. We all ate talked & did the normal supper stuff. Thanked the staff , paid & left the restaurant. As we are walking down Sherbrooke street the person who always raves about La Louisiane says, how did you like your meal? She starts off with I was disappointed, the group all agree. Not sure what it is exactly, but something was lacking in terms of freshness & flavour. Unlike prior visits, everything was average at best. Even the bread pudding which is usually a crowd pleaser was ok to bad (way too much chocolate drizzle). Nothing to complain about on service side. I don’t think it was just us, it was a Saturday night & the place was not packed. It’s too bad, because this place used to be really good. Here is to hoping they get their mojo back.Voir plus
Carte courte.
Poor lighting, sticky floors in the bathroom, served ice cold ribs, music too loud, most of the food tasted like Frank's Red hot & was under seasoned, all this for over 100$ for two people with one entree, one main & four drinks. Will not be back & cannot recommend.Voir plus
I was having a terrible day & the staff here took care of me so well! I had the crab cakes, the paneed chicken & some kind of awesome chocolate pecan thing for dessert. The food was phenomenal & the people that work here went above & beyond, truly. Vibrant atmosphere, cozy comfort food done fancy. Highly, highly recommend for any occasion or just because :)Voir plus
My wife & I came to this restaurant expecting something different. We both love Louisiana creole style food & figure this would be the place that would best represent. There's not many restaurants of its kind in the greater Montreal area so we gave it a shot.
I ordered jambalaya ($18) & my wife ordered the dinosaur ribs ($28). We also had a crab cake appetizer ($11).
The service was slow to begin with however the single waitress had her hands full & she did do a good job. The servers however were annoying, constantly cleaning our table that didn't need cleaning & taking away our plates without asking us. We had sweet potato fries remaining & he just took them away assuming we were done. He went so fast I didn't even have a chance to tell him.
As for the food. The crab cake app was good however way overpriced. It was 5 very small meatball size crab cake balls on a plate for $11?!
When our mains came I was a bit disappointed. My jambalaya was not really a jambalaya. Usually they are served in a bowl & just a mixed mess. They decided to separate everything neatly which made it look like a completely different dish. I had to ask the waitress if my plate was in fact what I ordered. Aside from that, the chicken was incredibly dry, I barely tasted any andouille sausage & the overall taste was not that of a jambalaya.
The dinosaur ribs my wife ordered consisted of 5 big bones with a bit of meat stuck on them. Honestly it looks impressive until you start seeing how little meat there is on these monster sized bones. The flavor was there but nothing special. For $28 you would expect more & not leave hungry.
My overall impression of this place was disappointing & I find the prices a rip off for what you get.
I've been to this restaurant twice & have mixed feelings. The first time I went with my brother & we both had excellent meals. Very flavourful, fresh ingredients, & the service was attentive & polite.
The second time I went with a friend after I raved to her how good it was, but it was completely disappointing. My pasta was overcooked & mushy, & the food she ordered was nothing like the description on the menu (& definitely not as spicy as the waiter made it seem...actually it was quite bland). The service was slow, & it was pretty much impossible to get the waiter's attention.
Not sure if I'd give this place another chance or not. Based on the other reviews it seems "hit or miss", & for the price I'm not sure I'd want to risk it.
For appetizers, I had the crab cakes they were delicious. Also tried the Louisiana Alligator (like little nuggets) not bad but not as good as the crab cakes.
I had the crawfish étoufée, pretty spicy, it wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad. I'm told that's not how a real louisiana étoufée is made, usually it's rice, veggies & the crawfish tails mixed together with a cream sauce, this was everything separated & the sauce was more sticky.
The service wasn't very good. The waitress seemed annoyed that we were there. Despite being about the only people inside the restaurant, the bus boys would always pass right beside our table, for the short time we were there they passed right beside our table like 15 times. A waiter came & took away my plate while I was still chewing on food. Then as we were waiting for the bill, a guy came with his cloth & started wipping & fixing the table for the next customers... he couldn't wait 5 more minutes?
