Worst restaurant experience in Montreal, agressive waitress, orders never received, poor quality and careless manager. We were not comfortable and could not enjoy our time despite the gross food because of the agressive voice and terrible impatience of the waitress. It's a waste of money .
The service is absolutely terrible, the staff is extremely rude and condescending. The food is inconsistent and when the management realized we were unhappy she asked what the issue was, upon explaining the service was terrible and Ive never had such a bad experience she turned to stone ! And showed absolutely no care in the world. I will NEVER return to this restaurant, it looks absolutely filthy , the bathrooms were deplorable ... seriously ... my message to the owners, change your attitude toward your clients as we are the reason you are here and clean the place up ... you lost 6 clients tonight who will NEVER step foot back in your restaurant
Very bad service. They kept missing items in our orders and at the end, our group was accused of having someone leave without paying. We checked with everybody and that was clearly not the case. Bad management, bad customer service, bad attitude. These people have no idea how to do business.

It is the 2nd time we visit and we took the all you can eat : tempura shrimps and lots of rolls : Avocado, crab, mango, cucumber, shrimps, chicken, etc...We tried the Chicken don, Chicken brochettes and Hand Rolls : Dragon eye, etc...
Overall food was good but service was very slow (could be improved).
The location is great (downtown Montreal).
On l'attend toujours ...
This restaurant has quite a good food, but the way the made us pay taxes on tips is very disgusting and as if they don to give us the choice to pay the tip the way we want. And i used to go there twice a week but today was the last time coz when i complained about the hair in my plate the manager was shouting.
This USED to be my favourite sushi spot downtown. For the past 4 years I have gone once a month for lunch or supper. However, I noticed a few months ago that they had new staff. It's no longer the smiley and friendly service I came to love. I'm assuming the restaurant has switched ownership or management. The sushi is still good, but the staff is SLOW and very RUDE. I recently had lunch there and the service was a mess:
-host didn't bring us to our table, just pointed in the direction of where we should sit
-didn't take drink orders....after 10 minutes I got up to ask
-didn't come by to take our food order....I got up and brought it to him after 25 minutes of sitting
-half our order never came
-it was not busy at all
My friend and I were so put off by the service that I did not think a tip was warranted. When I paid, the woman at the cash called me out for not tipping. I told her why and she freaked out on me. I used to leave generous tips at Crescent Sushi because it was amazing service. But, I don't believe that a customer should have to stand up and walk over to the surly waiter in order to place an order....TWICE.
Crescent sushi is a solid all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant located in the downtown Montreal core. The two floors of seating offer a comfortable place to meet with friends and family, their modest drink selection and extremely varied sushi menus ensure that there is something for everyone. I've been to Sushi Crescent several times and have always been pleased. It does well for AYCE sushi (although the quality doesn't compare to a la carte's). The sashimis are worthwhile, the maki rolls (especially their dragon rolls) are well worth trying, and the octopus ball is a quirky treat :)

I would NOT recommend sushi cresent
I would consider myself not a picky person nor I rarely complain about service or quality of food at restaurants. I can 100% say that I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. My boyfriend and I had visited the restaurant; we werent from Montreal and decided to give it a try. We walked in and saw that it was decently busy for dinner time and thought that was a good sign, we should have left. We were seated by a rude man, which I am convinced that he is the owner of the restaurant. He sat us to our table by pointing to the opposite side of the busy restaurant and when I went to the table beside it because it wasnt completely clear, he yelled at me saying NO!! and pointing to the next table beside it. Excellent first impression, off to a great start! As most all you can eat sushi restaurants , there was a main menu with everything that you could order, it was one sided, very large and awkward and laminated. The menu size in relation to the size of the table was somewhat awkward, but it wasnt at all a big deal for myself, I just worked with it.. We finally received an item that we had ordered, after sending back things that they tried to give us that was another tables multiple times. I went to grab a roll in the center of our little table and the menu was still in front of me as I was still taking a look.. Discussing the options with my boyfriend. Due to the size of the table and the size of the menu, some of the items were put on the menu or near the menu by myself or the other servers. The owner comes by our table, walks by our table and yells NO! pointing at the menu on the table and shaking his head and some muttering to himself in his language. He proceeds to RUDELY and loudly tell me that MENUS GO ON SIDE ON TABLE he began to move into my personal space and move the food that was placed on or near the menu, which was right in front of me. He proceeded to move each item, although I had told him that I got it, and then he moved the menu from under me and placed it on the side of the table. Then he VERY loudly said menu on side of table. I found this whole ordeal extremely rude, there was no reason for him to enter my personal space, move each plate off of it, speak to me like a child..the table and his menu was spotless and regardless if it had even been a little bit dirtied, a swipe of a wet cloth could fix it right away. Throughout my meal at Crescent Sushi, I watched this man do the same thing to
Good food. Unsatisfying service. Good view.
I've been to many sushi places before, but this place has the WORST service ever! It took them nearly 40 minutes to prepare our order ( which was shrimp tempura) and they gave us no priority whatsoever! If you would like to get your order at the time you're actually eating, then I DO NOT recommend this place!
decent maki sushi but my vegetable soup had no flavour and hardly any vegetables in it, mainly noodles.
However, i would go again just because the buffet price is worth it, you just have to know what to order.
Service: waiter 1 and 2 were very nice, however a couple of waiters literally just throw your plate on the table and speed away. I know your busy but 2 more seconds to place it nicely won't hurt. We also got food we didn't order.
I showed up on saturday at 12 and got a seat right away, however there was a big line up around 12 30.
I was surprised to read so many negative reviews on one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal!
I was never a sushi fan until I tried the sushi here at S.C! I don't know why people complain about the service, most of the time my friends and I go there during the business lunch hours, and only have an hour to eat, and we have never had to wait long! I don't know if it's because we're regulars (we go in a party of 2-3 once a week every week), or if we've just gotten lucky this past year.
Sometimes the new waiters might be slower than others, but it's never been so slow that we've had to wait forever until someone picked up our order - we immediately call our waiter and get our food within 5 minutes tops!
I do agree, however, that I absolutely despise being seated way at the back of the main floor - it's right next to the kitchen, the smell of soy sauce suffocates the clients stuck there, and the staff is uber noisy. Either ways, I don't care as long as I get my share of sushi for the week!
Some recommended items:
Crab meat salad
Dragon eye roll
Shrimp tempura & onion rings
I have to admit though, that somedays the food is better than others, but even when it's not at its best, it's still pretty darn awesome. Going there again this Tuesday - can't wait!
There were few things that went right at our dinner experience at Crescent Sushi. For Montreal standards, the sushi was above average. The portions were good but the fish wasn't fresh.
The service however was absolutely terrible. First, we were sat down by waiter # 1 near the extremely noisy kitchen where the waiters were gossiping loudly. We were then given only one menu to share between three people. When waiter #2 came to take our orders, he was disinterested and unfriendly. We asked 3 times for our drinks until we got them
Two of our orders came within 30 minutes with a 20 minute gap between the first two. The third order did not come and 20 minutes later we were given the wrong order by the manager (not either of our first 2 waiters). We notified them of their mistake and they responded by leaving without any apology or explanation of any kind to gossip for long period of time at the cashier with the other waiters.
They made us seem as if WE had made some sort of mistake in spite that our order was very clear and we witnessed him writing it down previously. They finally brought the third order another 10 minutes later on the same plate with with half of the wrong order removed.
They were neither humble or apologetic and waiter #2 left the dish, with attitude, on the side of the table purposely ignoring and avoiding eye contact instead of placing in front of our friend who had waited 50 minutes for two rolls. After that, it took them 10 minutes to notice that we were done and a 3rd waiter came by after ignoring our looks and serving the tables around us. There was also a female waitress who was very dismissive about everything.
We asked for our bills 3 times before we got them. We went up to pay at the cashier and the cashier demanded a tip and when we didn't give one they continued to gossip amongst themselves. I cannot remember the last time I didn't tip but this restaurant's service...was non-existent and did not deserve any tip whatsoever. Not once did they come by to fill our water glasses or ask us how the food was. They made us feel unwelcome and removed our dishes from our tables without asking or speaking to us at all. The attitude of all 3 waiters and the manager was extremely unacceptable. Please consider this before you go to this restaurant. It is not worth your time or your money. You are far better off going somewhere else.
3 otherwise mild mannered sushi lovers who have been to 40 restos combined.
