We can all agree on the fact that brunches allow us to enjoy wonderful moments with our family and friends with hearty and comforting dishes. We have done an article on our favourite places for brunch. Among the restaurants that make up this list is Le Réveil-Matin restaurant located in Rosemère. Let us introduce you to this well-known place on the North Shore of Montreal.
As soon as we arrive at Le Réveil-Matin, we notice that we will be treated with care, simply due to the small attention of having hot chocolate available when waiting in line. Do not worry, even if it is possible that there is a bit of waiting on the weekend, the service is very fast and they take care of you. You will be very happy to have taken the time to wait when you’ll be seated with your delicious dishes and beverages!
They recently renovated the dinning room to offer a beautiful comforting rustic decor with more modern touches. There are large seats covered with leather and cowhide as well as imposing industrial "barn" style lighting on the ceiling. A large kitchen island serves as a bar in the middle of the restaurant, accommodating a few customers who prefer to sit at a counter.
Regarding the more discreet decorative elements, you’ll notice everywhere in the restaurant giant kitchen utensils; a whip, a cheese grater, a dough roller are installed throughout the dining room. Beautiful day light comes in due to the very large garage doors at the front of the restaurant. These doors open on a very cute terrace in the summer to the satisfaction of all.
The menu is composed of a wide variety of elements that allow to please the desires of each customer who visits Réveil-Matin. Whether you want a healthy meal, with many fruits or a huge plate of "bacon, ham and sausage", it's possible! The menu is colourful, and the funny names of the items are going to bring joy in your morning. There are definitely options that everyone could enjoy; eggs benedict, waffles, omelettes, french toast, breakfast casseroles, as well as other more classic dishes. Hey Coffee lovers, change your routine by opting for a specialty coffee like the « after eight », consisting of chocolate syrup and mint essence.
We chose the egg benedict « Le CHARME'HEURE », the french toast « Le REMONTOIR » as well as the « Cassolette du PÊCHE'HEURE ».
First, the egg benedict « Le CHARME'HEURE » is served in a nice white ceramic plate that contains all the hollandaise sauce on the English muffins. Served in a rather traditional way at first sight, that is to say on an English muffin with hollandaise sauce and a poached egg, it is the addition of portobello mushroom, dried tomatoes and grilled Italian sausage which makes it so unique and tasty. The hollandaise sauce is rich, but light at the same time, we could definitely eat it by itself. To finish this dish in style, bocconcini cheese melts through the ingredients. As a side, you’ll find roasted potatoes and fresh fruits.
The second dish we have chosen is one of the "french toasts" available on the menu at Le Réveil-Matin. The REMONTOIR is made with thick slices of homemade apple bread in which you can taste the large pieces of apple that compose it when you take a bite, there is also cinnamon, which goes very well with that delicious orchard fruit. As a garnish, fresh blueberries and thick slices of bacon are bringing a very interesting sweet and salty side to the dish. And finally, of course, a generous amount of maple syrup!
The last dish that we decided to take is the « Cassolette du PÊCHE'HEURE ». The « cassolettes » are served in small cast iron pans and are mainly composed of potatoes and grilled vegetables. More specifically, the PÊCHE’HEURE is made of smoked salmon, capers, red onions and Swiss cheese au gratin on top of it. As an accompaniment, you’ll get a baguette bread with various jams.
Le Réveil-Matin is the perfect place for a Sunday brunch with your dear ones, the service is courteous and your stomach will be perfectly satisfied and will flawlessly end your weekend!
