Problems at Panos Let me start by saying I've been going to, and loving Panos for over 30-years. Not sure what's happening at Panos, but they seem to have lost their way when it comes to customer service. The food is as good and dependable as ever, no issue there. However, dining out is about the total experience, and poor service can make or break an evening/outing. I was there today, with a couple of family members, and the service was beyond poor. I'm not sure if we got them on an off day or if they were short staff, but regardless, this is a service industry and service should be king. I'm confident this would never have happened when the day-to-day operations were under the delicate and professional touch of Mrs. Panos. Our waiter was efficient when it was time to take our order and provide our meals, but he was no where to be found in between. When we ask if we could have more water, we were told, « can you wait 5-minutes, I'm busy with other tables ». We found that an unusual comment, but thought we would be patient. We tried to obtain assistance from another waiter, but he barked at us without much consideration. About one half hour later, our waiter returned with the bill. You never want the judge a restaurant based on one poor service experience, but I sense my beloved Panos is slipping when it comes to service. I hope they find their way and get things back on track. In the meantime, I'll spend my dining dollars elsewhere.
