Mouton Noir is our go-to spot in Val David for lunch and a drink. The food is quite good but the main selling point for me is the vibe (intimate, hip, and cool without being pretentious) and the location - right next to a river and with trees all around. Their pulled pork sandwich is really good and their poutines too.
This was such an exciting find - a restaurant that's basically a year-round cabane à sucre (sugar shack) with a warm, cozy loghouse atmosphere complete with large indoor fireplace! And the food is excellent! Their thinly shaved smoked ham, tourtière (I guess it's really more meat pie than tourtière) with fruit ketchup, baked beans, French onion soup, and crepes are sooo good. Definitely worth a visit for typical Quebecois fare, plus it's next to the charming Val-David town centre.
Boustan is a relatively new addition to Verdun, and man am I happy it's here now! Every plate and sandwich I've ordered has been perfection... delicious chicken shawarma, kefta, falafel, vegetable couscous, crispy potatoes Thanks to Boustan I now enjoy falafel - This has become the weekly go-to place to order from at my work for a reason!
I had the spinach and cheese ravioli here and it was to die for. Fresh pasta, fresh spinach, all homemade and fresh ingredients and you can really tell the difference. Everyone in our group loved their meals. It was so delicious. Lovely warm, intimate ambiance as well and excellent service. Looking forward to the next time I eat here!
Palais d'Ajit is by far the best Indian restaurant in Verdun/Southwest Montreal. The food is always delicious and is reasonably priced compared to other Indian restaurants. It's a better place for delivery or pick up than to eat at in person though. The two times I've been in person it was super cold (AC on in winter...) and there is no ambiance to speak of - no music, plain decor (if any - can't recall). But the food is great, as evidenced by how packed the restaurant is all the time.
Delicious! This was my third time eating here and once again I was impressed by how fresh and delicious my meal was. The meals seem to use simple, fresh ingredients, and the restaurant ambiance is nice as well (tasteful, simple decor without being kitsch). I will come back for sure.
