Really miss Piquillo. Beba, Small menu, only 3 mains and 2/3 were $55. Rest were tapas $14 to about $25. The Brussels sprouts were charred and served in an intense vinegary sauce. Shame that there was no vegetable taste, just burnt & vinegar. Trout roe was good, served on a flatbread that was a bit too thick. A crepe would be more delicate. The grilled Calmar and pork cheek was ok. Calmar was way overcooked, burnt in some places. Pork cheek appeared to be confit, tender but dry. Only a couple of bites so still hungry. The worst was the loud reggae music. Not the right vibe at all for a supposedly upmarket cocktail & tapas place.

Lovely solarium type room in front of the main restaurant. Fairly quiet on a weekday in summer. Asked the waiter to turn down the dance music (?) and thankfully, he complied. Tried the $25 prix fixe lunch menu. Salmon crudo was delicious, but the portion was miniscule. 2 pieces of salmon small as the top of a thumb. No lemon, no salt was served or offered, though pepper was. Seafood mix was also delicious though rather salty. Again miniscule portion, the vegetables consisted of a couple of bits of cauliflower & brussel spouts. Dessert was 2 tiny balls, one of sorbet, the other a cheesecake mixture. Delicious. Overall great food, but could hardly be called lunch. More like a couple of small plates to have with an aperitif. By mid-afternoon, we were hungry. Oh, and we were charge $9.50 + tx for a bottle of sparkling water. Not impressed with that. Maybe they feed you more at dinner?

Won't be back unless things improve. Love middle eastern food, and kept seeing this one recommended. Had late lunch (2pm) on a Friday afternoon. Serious problem with acoustics. Although the restaurant was nearly empty, the noise level was deafening. Every conversation + music echoing & reverbing off the high bare walls. Service was less than stellar. Although the restaurant was empty, the server refused to turn down the music and seemed completely unconcerned that the noise level was too high. Having to order at the counter was a bit weird, given that there were lots of servers. A different server offered us hot sauce, which we both accepted, but forgot to come back with it until we were finished eating. I quite liked the food, especially the walnut puree thing. The kefta was good, the hummous very creamy, and the cooked salad was rich. Though pricey if you're used to Boustan, Amir, or Basha, everything was tasty. It seems to have potential, good food, good location, fresh airy decor, but the execution is off. Must do something with the acoustics. And the sourpuss servers. Think I'll just go back to Boustan for now.
