There's much better vietnamese restaurants out there than this one. The food was mediocre, nothing special and the prices were a bit higher than other viet restos of the same category.
I always come here for dessert (chocolate mousse is exceptional, as is their apple pie with ice cream). It's open late 7 days a week. Feels like a café in Paris... the ambiance, music, service, food - all is excellent! Terrace and brunch in the summer is amazing!
I've been to Ferreira twice- once for a regular dinner and once for their 24$ after 22h menu. The first time I had their seafood casserole, which was tasty but didn't blow me away... not worth the extremely high pricetag... Second experience was much better, I started with the calamari, which was fresh and crispy, not too greasy and came with a tangy mayo sauce. My main meal was a Cod dish with potatoes and friend onions, also very good. The service is friendly and professional. I would recommend trying out the late night menu if you are on a budget because this resto is quite $$ otherwise. It's a great place to go for a special occassion!
I went here with a couple of friends the other night not really knowing what we would expect, and let me tell you- we were extremely satisfied with our dining experience. The sushi was inventive, fresh and tasty. The flavours melted together and fish quality was quite good. The service was efficient and friendly. The prices were quite decent for the quality of the food, plus it is a BYOW. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but we were wowed by the decor inside, very long ans sleek. Dark, moody lighting set a relaxing environment. Overall, we enjoyed Uchi very much and would return there again soon!
Went for the last night post-10pm menu. Everything was excellent. I had the mezze platter, tuna burger and baklava, all for 20$. Great value! The quality of the food was amazing. Great taramosalata- my favourite! Service was friendly and courteous. The place was quite bustling for late night. A great meal to remember!
Nice resto huddled secretly in St-Henri. Had a very nice and large terrace. Service was a bit spotty, altought it was made up by a very friendly and chatty waiter. Prices was excellent for the quality and quantity of the food. I had the steak-frites. Yummy fries and steak cooked to my liking. My other dining companians all enjoyed their meals as well- mexican burrito, chicken dish and filet mignon. All in all, a decent meal in a nice location!
Decent pasta, nothing out of this world. The decor is warm and homey and the service was friendly and prompt. However, my pasta was good but not great.. the bread they serve is nice and warm and freshly baked. Not bad to go celebrate a birthday as the space can accomodate big groups. Decent restaurant for the West Island.
I went to this resto last sat night without a reservation and even though it was packed we got a table within 5 mins. The decor is very nice and modern. We started off with an arugula salad which was big enough for 2 people to share. Next, I had the penne primavera and my companion had the penna arabiatta. Both were excellent: big portions, fresh ingredients, good taste. The prices were reasonable too. And its a BYOW. Service was friendly and attentive: as it was a Sat night and the lineups were long, we didnt feel pressured at all to eat and leave, in fact we stayed a good 30 mins after our meal to sit and talk and finish up our wine. In all, an excellent resto! ***Update: Since this review, I have been to Ottavio another three times, once in Laval and twice at the new branch in VSL.. and I have to say I'm not a fan.. The food is mediocre at best.. The pasta is flavourless and sometimes wayy too al dente. The salads are ok, they are huge, but they lack taste,, the ingredients don't taste fresh, feels like everything came out of a can or a bag.. the service has always been efficient but if the food isn't good, I probably won't be going back.
It was ok... it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either.. we sat on the terrace on a hot summer's day, which was very pleasant. The terrace was packed and the waiters were running around here and there,, all very rushed. Our waiter seemed a bit scatterbrained as if he was thinking of a million things at once and therefore we felt his attention wasn't 100% focused on serving us. I had the chicken sante fe- it was alright, I can't complain, but it's also a meal that I won't remember.. the price can be high as well when you factor in wine.. all in all, it's a very touristy spot, i wouldn't go again.
Yum! I love bilboquet. Great ice creams and sorbets. If you love chocolate with nuts, get the cacaophonie. So creamy and chocolatey... my bf always gets a sorbet- the lemon is outstanding! perfect for a hot summer's day!
I love this place.. it's close to my house so I go there often with friends or family.. The sushis are pretty good considering the cheap price tags.. The resto also has traditional tatami seating, so it's fun to take a group of people, take off your shoes and sit all around the table. The servers are nice and the service is always efficient. It's a byo, which is always a plus for a sushi restaurant. The miso soup is good too!
yummmerss, the food was excelllent! i got the beef shabu shabu and it was so much fun!! it comes with tons of sides-veggies, udon, rice, sauces. the decor is way nicer than other restos in chinatown and the staff is supperrrrr friendly. Not too expensive either! good to come with friends! Ill def be going back:)
