Hoai Huong
Brossard
Service
Nourriture
2.0

I went to this place because I have had a really good experience at the one in Montreal. I ordered their table d'hôte skewers (beef and chicken), and they arrived both with a really really sweet taste. I normally like my food on the sweeter side but this time, it was really odd. I also noticed my grilled chicken were pink. Now I know dark meat tends to have a pinkish color, but the texture was a bit jelly-like and I wasn't sure if it was cooked 100%. Since the waitress never came by to ask if everything's alright only til the end, when I told her about the meat, she said that I should've said something sooner if I wasn't happy about something, and that they serve all chicken like this, this wasn't their first order. I do see other people eating similar things, but maybe it was my order... anyway, i am not sure if i will visit them soon, maybe won't order chicken skewers next time.

3.5

Finally got to try the Banquise with some friends. Everyone says this is like "to-go" place for poutine, so much advertised. The service is a little confusing as I lined up for the take-out counter by mistake, but we got seated fairly fast as we wanted inside seats and everybody wanted outside. They have so many kinds of poutine it is difficult to make up your mind, but at last I chose the .... classic! yes, simple is good. Fries are slightly sweet which I like, sauce was good, and cheese was squeaky just the way a poutine should be!

Winncie
Brossard
Service
Nourriture
4.0

Brossard is so saturated with Chinese restaurants, there is one basically almost at every commercial centers. What keeps me coming to Winncie's is their food. It's my go-to place when I crave generic Chinese food (sure I can spend 40$ a meal when I want top notch Chinese, but at times, I just want quick, cheap but good food to take home and sit in front of the tv). Yes I order general Tao (don't roll your eyes!) a lot, but I also order the noodles dish which is abundant with veggies. Their general Tao is not sickly sweet, but just enough for me to take a second bite, and a third, forth... I also love the soups, simple wontons, simple broth. Homey cooking, that's what I like.
