After learning from Glutton for Punishment on the Food Network that this restaurant chain was supposed to be the best in Montreal, I couldn't wait to try it. My boyfriend who is also a Food Network fan was visiting me from Toronto and we went at 10:30am on Saturday morning to check it out. We were a little surprised that there was no line up and the restaurant was not very full -- quite unusual for a popular breakfast chain on a Saturday morning. We were served in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the waffles with caramel and apples, which was advertised as a favourite but was nothing special for me. The real problem was when my boyfriend tried to order eggs cooked well. When the waitress asked how he liked his eggs and he replied "Well," she looked at him like he was speaking a foreign language and said, "Well...? You mean, over-easy." He said,"No, well. Well, cooked, cooked all the way through." When she brought the eggs, he cut into it to find the middle still runny. When she came to check on us he told her the yolk was still runny and again explained he wanted the yolk cooked all the way through. After checking with the manager she said they would just bring two more eggs. When those eggs were brought, they were only slightly more cooked than the last set. Understand, he was not being rude or fussy. Those eggs were what I call over-medium and they are my favourite egg. I also have no problem eating a runny yolk, but I also know that people who don't like runny yolk really don't want to see any part of the yolk run at all. When he told the waitress the eggs still weren't cooked the way he asked and at this point she could just take them all away because he'd finished eating the rest of his meal, she took them away and came back with the bill, telling him that the manager did not charge him for his meal. Since they brought us our bill even though I was still working my way through the last third of my plate, I took that to mean we were being dismissed. The kicker was that the manager came over to personally "apologize" but then added that maybe what my boyfriend needs to ask for is for his yolk to be broken and mixed in with the white and then cooked!!! I told her this was not his first time ordering eggs in a restaurant and that he's never had a problem! It was almost laughable! This is breakfast 101! SO disappointed.

As a huge fans of the food network, my boyfriend and I were dying to try this restaurant. The place is a lot smaller than we expected, but I guess you could call it cozy. Unfortunately, for the price we were both underwhelmed by the food. He had the lobster poutine and I had the beef short ribs, two dishes that have been highly recommended by most of the reviews I'd read. While the meat on the ribs was definitely fall off the bone as promised, the flavour was just good, and not much better than what I could make myself. My boyfriend felt the same way about his poutine, which I tasted. Maybe our expectations were too high, and nothing was bad, but for that price I have had meals that have blown me away, and this was nowhere near that experience. It's somewhere to definitely try at least once, and it's for sure a trendy spot with nice ambiance.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and finally had my chance with two friends who had been there previously. It has a beautiful decor which seems to have become more upscale as one friend remembers a more african themed decor on her last visit some time ago. Service was a bit slow except for the water being refilled as soon as a few sips have been taken. But the meal once we got it was throughly enjoyed. Very tasty, well seasoned dishes. More bread was offered as soon as we were down to two pieces. A very filling and satisfying meal, and the price was very reasonable! Definitely a must try.

I decided to check out this restaurant since the Gazette had given it a nice review. I ordered take out and they gave me burnt rice. I was appalled and I will never go back.

I was stood up on a date and decided to go out by myself. I picked this place because I heard they had some of the best wings on the West Island. I was not disappointed! I had half honey garlic and half hot. Delicious! I also ordered the Beijing Beef Salad which was so yummy. The beef was tender and tasty, perfectly marinated, and there were lots of salty and sweet crunchy bits that made it really enjoyable. The staff was very friendly too. The next time I went my friend and I sat a the bar. The bartending staff is the best even if the drinks are just ok. They are sweet and really accomodating! The next day we went back and ate dinner. I had a the asian salad salmon which again was delicious and my friend had a pasta and chicken dish that he said was really good. I haven't tried all the appetizers (i keep ordering wings!) but they all look great, and they are available even after the kitchen closes (I had to ask for future visits). Great place to hang out late!

My FAVOURITE roti in the city. Hands down! Their roti skin is the best and their curry is perfectly flavoured. Excellent doubles too!
