I have been a few times, and this really is a cut above the usual fare, both in terms of food and service. La Prunelle is intimate and cozy, with friendly service and interesting specials- though it would be nice if the specials were priced more on par with the regular menu. Last night, I had the deliciously juicy tiger shrimp (five large, perfect shrimp) in espelette pepper cream appetizer, while my sister had the excellent beef tartare. The yam chips that come with it are underwhelming, but the tartare itself is delicious. My main course of duck magret was good but not amazing- the rabbit is better. Her mushroom ravioli, however, was delicious, very decadent. Chocolate cake to finish was delicious, while the financier was dull. For two "menu degustation" including granite and coffee, the bill was 110 before tip- certainly worth it for a pleasantly slow supper. Would definitely recommend it for groups of couples or friends, or as a date spot.
