Very disappointed in Shekz; first thing is that we had to wait 15 minutes just to get menus, they said they didn't have enough (the place was only half full), how could a restaurant not have enough menus for every seat?? Then once we got them we were being rushed to order! Two separate waiters offered us bread on two occasions, which we accepted yet they never brought until we flagged our waited down and asked for it. That took about 20 minutes. Our food finally arrives (after about an hour), and it was good, not great. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and they had a singer/guitarist offering nice music....that is until the owners friends came in and sat nearby; the owner was chatting very loudly with them and the curse words were coming out non-stop....did not help with the atmosphere and displayed a lack of class from the owner. The wait staff was very nice and friendly, it wasn't their fault that the food was slow. Unfortunately, the cons outweigh the pros at Shekz, therefore I will not be returning.

I was so excited to eat here finally and was so disappointed instead. The service was extremely lacking, our server did not seem to care much at all about our table, I honestly do not know why. We waited over 90 minutes for our meals, he did not even come to see us during that waiting time to make sure we were ok. We even had to ASK for water! After we finally caught his attention and asked about our meals, he said the chef made a mistake, I actually think he forgot to give in the order. He really looked like he didn't want to be there at all. It's really unfortunate because the service is the main reason why none of us will return.

Nous sommes allés manger à ce beau petit resto pour la St-Valentin. Tout a bien commencer, nous avons étés bien acceuillis et nous avons eu une belle table aussi. Il y avait un menu spécial exprès pour la St-Valentin, très interressant. Le service était très bien, quand elle était à notre table...cet-à-dire, le temps d'attente entre les plats était de plus en plus long! Pour recevoir le dessert, nous avons attendu plus de 25 minutes!!! Cela est innacceptable! Une excuse aurait été bien acceuilli quand elle est finalememt revenue avec les desserts, mais non, elle s'est sauvé au plus vite! A cause du délais entre les plats (le resto n'était surtout pas plein a cracker c'est certain, nous y retournerons pas et ne le recommanderon pas non plus, même si la nourriture est très bonne.

I went to this restaurant with very high expectations after reading its reviews on restomontreal. I do agree with the quality of the food, I had filet mignon and my husband had the duck confit and we were both quite satisfied. We were seated in a very small room, about 5 tables fit in there, I think there were private parties in the other rooms, this made us feel like we were in someone's out-dated dining room. The problem we had lay with the service, everyone here seemed to have been served by "Lino", unfortunately he was not our waiter on this night. Our waiter, who barely spoke english, seemed very uncomfortable and insecure with his job, which in the end, made us uncomfortable. We could barely understand him because he spoke in such a low tone, her was just so shy! We placed our orders in english, to which he responded in english, but throughout the evening, he kept going back to french and back to english in the same sentence! Whenever he came to check on us he seemed almost afraid to speak, because he just seemed so nervous. Once we finished our dinner, he came right away and completely cleared out table of EVERYTHING and then left, he did not bother offering any desserts or coffee. He then went on to serve other tables. He finally realized after about 10 minutes that we were waiting (for anything at this point) and came back to offer desserts. We asked what they were and all he mentioned were flavours; it was not clear if these were cakes, tarts, ice cream...etc. We did not end up taking any of them as we were disappointed in the service and just wanted to leave. When the time came to pay, he brought me the portable credit card machine; at one point I was uncertain which button to press when it came to the tip so I asked him how it worked, which he explained to me but then, stood right over me watching what tip I was going to put in! I did not like that at all. Needless to say he did not get his full 15%. It's too bad because the food here is good, but because of that service, we will not be going back there.

Superb restaurant! Never been dissappointed with Di Menna, the food is delicious and well presented. The service is excellent. One of the best restaurants in St-Leo!

Very cool place, enjoyed it so much! Had the baluchon d'escargots to start...wonderful! Then some pasta which was great too. The place is always packed but I never waited more than 10 minutes to be seated - reservations are always better of course. A little on the loud side because of the size and thwe amount of people but it's ok. Will continue to go back!

I used to like this place very much, unil I went there with my family. We were 7 people on a sunday afternoon, there was a small party in the other room, it took us 5 hours to finish the meal! The waiters had completely forgotten about us and were always in the other room. I've moved on to better places since then, service counts for a lot for me.
