This franchise is a total disgrace to the Madison Brand and completely discredits the welcoming for ALL experience which it promotes .. I've been to numerous locations in Montreal and I have never had such a distasteful and humiliating experience as i did at this location on st Martin:l'avenir today. MTY GROUP needs to enforce stricter ,professional and probably even psychological screening protocols before giving ownership rights to people who are clearly not fit for management in the hospitality industry. Today my family and I gathered for my cousins baby shower. Where we were about 30 guests including children as young as 2 years old. While we enjoyed our first course , and preparing to open gifts , the manager rudely interrupts the hosts speech to advise us that since as one of our guests has complained about receiving a dirty plated and feared that her food might be contaminated due to the horrible taste that WE were basically not welcome to stay, could not finish our meals or the celebration at the restaurant since he felt that WE were all not satisfied with the service on the complaints of 1 person.. He then arrogantly offers the host a refund in front of EVERYONE , told us he cancelled our main course , that we needed to leave right away and gave us this bs speech about his social involvement in the black community ??? What does that have to do with your dirty plates and contaminated tartar sauce ??? Appalled by his disrespect and in order to diffuse the situation or inflict any stress on the 8 1/2 month mom-to-be the host pulls the manager to the side demanding an apology for such poor behaviour and for humiliating her in front of her guests. He then expresses how he took her review personally or in his words " I feel like a pc of shit because she wasn't satisfied with the food and that he had given her a dirty plate". Personally this man seemed completely unstable and way too emotional and was literally 2 secs from crying but definitely not fit for management. Logically the solution was probably to give her a clean plate and an alternate choice for an appetizer. To make matters even worse, the guest who had complained was then followed by the owner of the restaurants wife all the way inside the bathroom stall, charging in calling her a bitch because of the bad review. It escalated from there and as we lost our appetite we decided to leave. THIS PLACE IS COMPLETELY UNSTABLE , UNPROFESSIONAL & STAFF HAS UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR & DEFINITELY NOT A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL ETHNICITIES! SAVE YOURSELF THE TRIP, THE MONEY AND THE HUMILIATION AND DRIVE TO THE MADISON IN CHOMEDY! PS DONT BE FOOLED STAFF MEMBERS ARE NOW POSTING RECOMMENDATIONS & WRITING POSITIVE REVIEWS TO DEFLECT TODAYS INCIDENTS
