Ok, so I went to Montreal this weekend to celebrate my 24th Birthday. I took "Nick's" advice and decided to try the island chicken fajitas as I diligently researched this website to decide where to eat before I got to Montreal. I must say, my boyfriend ordered the jerk chicken and there was NO comparison. The Island fajita was OK- but 2 things were problematic with it. 1) You can't pick it up and eat it like a wrap-like the name "fajita" should indicate. It is covered in sauce and cheese so you have to use utensils. 2) I cut into a piece, put it into my mouth, and I kid you not, was surprised by a mouth full of bones! I didn't dare take another bite. I was turned off completely from that moment on. I only had the white rice and veggies & the plantains were OK-too thickly sliced for my liking. But I had some of my boyfriends jerk chicken and felt terrible that I didn't order it. My gut said I should have ordered that in the first place but I went for the fajita and it was a big mistake. So if you are debating which of those two to get-- pick the jerk chicken! You will NOT be disapointed. The Barris music on the TV was great and the tropical fish really made the atmosphere seem caribbean-like. If I had ordered the jerk chicken there would be no complaining here whatsoever. The waitress was nice and her helper was super keen on providing great service. Great place, great atmosphere, great food--just look out for stray bones! Also, try the 4 fish cakes as an appetizer! They are fabulous. They taste like conch fritters (for those of you who have been to the bahamas and know what I'm talking about). Yummy! In addition, try the tequila sunset to drink... faboo!
