Excellent service! Chairs are comfortable, fireplace is nice, table is nicely set. Three of us chose the prix fixe Menu d'automne. The food was absolutely delicious though the lobster was tough (why is lobster on the Menu d'automne? We were't thinking as we never would have ordered it. Isn't lobster season over in Montreal?). One guest who ordered a la carte, and who travels widely said that the starter French Onion Soup was one of the best he had ever tasted. He followed that with the mushroom filled ravioli, which was beautifully balanced, the pasta being very thin and tender so as to give ceremony to the filling and sauce. As a main, he was also very pleased with his filet mignon. My fish dish (part of the menu d'automne) was cooked to perfection: soft, melted in my mouth - though the bit of lobster also on the plate, as I said, was tough. Those who chose the fowl stuffed with lobster also had the same complaint. The desserts were all great, though I was particularly fond of their creme brule and Palais Royale (crunchy with chocolate and hazelnuts - the hazelnuts did not over power as they often do.) All in all, I would recommend this place for a good meal, ambiance, and extremely accommodating, freindly, informative staff.
