On Friday August 31st at 9pm.
Michelle was singing before she was talking. Her grandmother used to take her to choir practice with the Edward Hill Singers at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The average age of choir members was 25, and they did not care if she was only 7 years old; they said " You better open up your mouth and sing for the Lord" he is the giver of the gift
Soon after she graduated from John F Kennedy High School at the age of 15 her grandmother gave Ronnie Love and the Drifters permission to take her on the road. Almost 2 years later she returned home and went to Community College, the week of finals she had to make a decision; to stay in school or go on the road again. At the same time she was being coached to sing opera for an audition for the Oberlin Conservatory her teacher, Douglas Hines, cried when she went off to sing Rock and Roll.
Michelle eventual moved to Canada with her two children, Michael and Keena. She admits the road was not always easy, but she refused to let someone else raise her children. Agent Roger Peace booked her in several stage and film productions throughout the years as she graced the screen with Actor/ Director George Clooney in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Oscar winning Director Deny Arcand in Stardom, Actor Wesley Snipes in Art of War and Co- stared in a Canadian Award winning film the Company of Strangers, just to mention a few.
Michelle has Performed around the world and has worked beside some of the world’s greatest entertainers, including Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, and Oliver Jones. The past five years her Main stage has been Montreal’s House of Jazz.
Among many of her talents, Michelle shares her love of cooking with recipes she inherited from her grandmother. She offers her soulful soul food cuisine, fried chicken, black eye peas, and her Sweet Sweeney's Sweet Potato Pies.
Michelle's success is waking up and doing what she was born to do; Share her voice and bring joy to everyone.
