Born in Bermuda, Jeff started singing at a very young age, beginning in church, and afterwards in many other contexts. He has sung in numerous choirs, sometimes professionally, and studied Opera technique with David Doane and Marie Laferriere for three years. Jeff has often sung on his jobs as a drummer. This began in the 70's, singing backup in pop bands, which led to occasional lead parts, until he was the main vocalist on many jobs, always while playing drums. In the last two years, he has done a series of concerts as featured vocalist with the Montreal Jazz Big Band, including a Ray Charles show, and some Latin shows, in Spanish. He has recently toured with the renowned french Canadian artist Ginette Reno, both as a drummer and a back vocalist.

Jeff's vocal repertoire is very large, and always growing. He performs hundreds of jazz standards, or show tunes, many blues, and some songs in French, Spanish and Portugese. Repertoire is a cornerstone of the Jeff Simons Trio, and is constantly being expanded and polished.
