On Saturday June 30th at 6pm.
Pianist and composer Gilles Carreau is a jazz passionate.
He started his musical career as a drummer, but discovered the vibraphone (vibes) while studying percussions at Vincent DíIndy School of music.
He then became a pupil of Louis Charbonneau- timpanist for the MontrÈal Symphony Orchestra. To perfect the vibraphone, he took lessons with David Samuel in New York City.
A few years later, he decided to concentrate his efforts on piano, and study musical vocabulary of Bill Evans,
Keith Jarret, Chick Corea, and also the famous vibraphone master- Gary Burton.
At the House of Jazz, Gilles Carreau presents a musical repertoire from well known jazz standards.
Of all styles of music, jazz is his favourite because of its rich harmonies. Jazz has a creative and libertarian style that enables him to improvise to beautiful structured harmonies.
Gilles loves playing at the House of Jazz with various musicians because this enables them to live rich moments of emotion in music.
He invites you to come live these special moments with the trio [email protected] every Saturday evenings from 6pm to 9 pm.
