This used to be the best portuguese restaurant , now the 3rd time I go & nothing but problems - last night very dark & dingy , bathroom dirty . Order seafood platter - sorry we have no clams - order mussel platter- waiter tells me it comes with fries - I asked for salad - small platter half empty shells with badly cooked mussels - 29$- salad never came... squid entre is 2 squid chopped finely. Need to step the game up what a horrible experience & the food is lacking how do you charge 30$ for small plate of mussels no sides if you can go all you can eat for cheaper in the plateau.

Fui com minha filha. Fomos bem recebidas e a sangria era deliciosa. Pedimos um bom caldo verde 💚. Como prato pedi choco grelhado que chegou com legumes frescos e saborosos. Minha filha pediu bitoque. Veio igual como em Portugal com o ovo frito encima e tudo 😋. Passamos um bom momento entre mae e filha. Só tenho um ponto a melhorar: a fachada da entrada. De fora nao imaginas o que está escondido lá dentro. Uma sala muito agradável e um serviço excelente. Bem hajam. Vamos voltar.

Cenamos mi pareja y yo durante nuestra estancia en Montreal, y fue una experiencia muy agradable.
Somos de Espana, de una zona cerca de Portugal, y nada mas entrar al restaurante, recibimos una ola de hospitalidad. Conversaciones animadas, alegría, un musico amenizando la velada.
Casa Alentejo te hace sentir como estar en Portugal. La atención y la carta también nos pareció excelente.
Probamos el bifé (muy sabroso) y la sopa del dia.

Montreal is full of hidden culinary gems, & Restaurant Casa Alentejo is exactly the kind of place I love discovering. From the outside it's easy to overlook, but once you're inside, you're treated to outstanding Portuguese cuisine prepared with real care.

One of the biggest bonuses for me is the location. It's just off the busy Saint-Hubert shopping district, so it's much easier to find street parking than at many restaurants in the area.

The seafood is exceptional. I ordered the grilled octopus & the loup de mer (branzino). The branzino was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt & rich, buttery flavor. The octopus was tender, meaty, & grilled to perfection with a wonderful smoky finish.

The staff were thoughtful, attentive, & genuinely kind, making the whole experience feel relaxed & welcoming. It's also a great place to catch a FIFA match while enjoying an authentic Portuguese meal.

If you're looking for classic Portuguese cooking without the crowds or flashy exterior, Restaurant Casa Alentejo is a true hidden gem & one I'll definitely be returning to.
