Overlooking the Saint-Lawrence river, Taverne Gaspar is conveniently located on de la Commune street, right next to the Auberge du Vieux-Port. The Chef offers accessible and comforting cuisine inspired by British Gastro Pubs with French and Quebecois accents.
Among the house specialties, a trio of savory tarts, scallops with pork belly and butterflied Cornish hen, in addition to the “Special of the Day” offering traditional dishes. Local beers on tap will be featured, including the Gaspar house beer. In addition, classic and creative cocktails, a wide selection of spirits, and a carefully selected wine list, are offered. Led by principles of authenticity and friendliness, the tavern puts at the forefront raw materials, tables and oak woodwork, brass accents, antique mirrors and fixtures all perfectly complement the stone walls and the original signature of the room. The Gaspar Experience is complemented with an eclectic background music mix of indie, classic rock, blues and folk.
The tavern’s seating capacity is 120, and in the summer season will overflow with an additional 60 on a terrace on the rue de la Commune. It also has a room accommodating up to 60 people, available to patrons for the organization of private events.
