Clébard is located on Saint-Denis, just a few steps from Mont-Royal metro station. That location may ring a bell, it used to be the mythic Au Diable Vert, a popular bar where Montreal’s party animals would party for 14 years.

Clébard is the perfect happy hour destination with their gorgeous and sunny terrace filled with flowers and plants that reduce the sounds coming from the street. Clébard is divided in three distinct sections, which makes it possible to have a private party, private corporate events or any other kind of gathering between friends. They also offer special menus for private group parties.

When entering in the bar, you are immediately welcomed in a warm ambiance with a lot of woodwork including really big beams on the ceiling, “bistro style” tables and leather seats.

The amazing bar countertop is made with thousands of old pennies; there are also some retro elements that remind us of the prohibition period.

There are plenty of choices regarding the beverages; Signatures cocktails, white and red wine, sparkling wine and champagne, local and imported beers and a pretty good selection on premium spirits.

Feeling for something new? They are offering homemade punches served in bowls or half-bowls to share with your friends.

For all the bourbon fans out there, their selection is quite impressive; they are using it behind the bar and in the kitchen. Wednesday is bourbon day at Clébard, because when you buy one you get one free, thanks to them!

You must be hungry now… their food menu offers simple options that could make anyone happy. Jessie, the chef, gets inspired a lot by local ingredients and flavours. She really wants customers to taste her “homemade” touch and there is actually a weekly menu that she creates. There are three section in the menu: In the « À grignoter » section, you will find hummus, salted nuts and other small snacks. In the « À savourer » section, you will find some meals for bigger appetite like a bourbon and caramelized bacon Mac&Cheese and a lamb cheeseburger.

In the « À partager » section, you will find nachos with a variety of toping also, their jerky chicken bucket is a must try!

To share during your happy hour, the charcuterie and cheese platter are perfect options. Everything is tasty, affordable and you will get served really quick. Simply irresistible!

Considering that they close at 3am, it’s a perfect place to enjoy a good meal with friends and then party all night without having to go anywhere else. It is recommended to get there early on their busy nights (especially during the week-end) to make sure you do not wait in line outside. Also, Clébard hosts many recurring theme nights during the week like the « Lady’s night » Tuesdays where they offer a cocktail with each meal, the « Bourbon and beer » Fridays allows you to enjoy a beer and a shot of bourbon for a really good price, and finally you could win a pair of ticket for a Canadiens de Montréal match during their hockey nights.
