This chain has certainly changed over the 15+ years I've been going to it... the prices have gone steadily up, the portions gotten steadily smaller. On a personal level the ribs and fries remain favorite meals and every few months I find myself going back for one of my favorite meals. The service is polite, almost robotic as waiters rarely have a moment to talk with their guests yet are always more than available for refills, asking you how you like your meal exactly 5 minutes after the food is served (yes we timed this once). They are competent and work towards serving you efficiently and quickly so that the next client can get to their seats. I like the ambiance of the place, decorations are warm, colors are suitable and seating comfortable. As mentioned before, the baby back ribs are excellent and the fries usually well done. The chicken tenders are usually good but sometimes are hit and miss as they put too much batter. I've had several different meals in the past, such as their burgers (which was too well done) and salads (which was very good).

Every time I drove by the Centropolis I'd notice this "diner". A group of friends planned to watch a movie and since it's conveniently located a mere 2 minutes away from the Colossus, we stopped by to get a bite to eat. We didn't regret it. Pros : - The menu is actually amusing to read, lots of witty and comical names for their food. - Ordered a burger called "Le Laval" and a poutine called "Hey Le Gros". Both were particularly tasty and well worth going back to enjoy. Kindly note, the portions are HUGE and I didn't manage to finish it all. The poutine is HUGE so it can be a main meal (even for 2!). Burgers are exceptionally well done. - For desert my lady and I shared a brownie desert with ice cream, it was very good as well. - Music and atmosphere was retro and kinda neat. Plenty of TV screens to watch a game. Cons : - Service isn't notable, while friendly, not particularly quick and requires several reminders to provide for our table. I don't blame the waiter, as I believe he was simply waiting on far too many tables. He provided a friend at our table the wrong desert and quickly provided the right order.... even gave the wrong item ordered freely to the next table. I don't believe service is a big issue but if you're pressed for time, you may want to come a little earlier. Would I go back? Absolutely!

Located in a beautiful home that was converted into a s small restaurant that provides its guests with authentic Italian cuisine. Pros : - Ideal for that romantic atmosphere. Celebrating an anniversary and want a quiet evening with your loved one? This is the place. - Beautiful decorations with perfect lighting. Hard to describe a week afterwards but honestly, this place was just perfect for a romantic evening. - Ordered "Tortellini con prosciutto, pomodoro, funghi e crema" as a main course.... it was fantastic and I'm a huge italian cuisine critic. Probably the best italian dish I've had outside "Casa di Mama". - Plenty of options to order. - Service was perfect. Our waiter, Umberto was charming and helpful. Make sure to ask him your questions and which deserts are made in house. - Their "Tiramisù al caffè" was really reaaally good. Cons : - Can get expensive so unless you have the means, this isn't exactly a place you go on a weekly basis. Just perfect for the right occasions. Table hote however is reasonably priced however. Definitely going on my favorite list and will recommend to family and friends. Make sure to reserve ahead of time, seating is limited. Enjoy!

One of my favorite places to eat for 20+ years now. Traditional Greek cuisine that hits the spot, especially when you need a boost. Pros : - Many different and delicious dishes to try out. My all time favorite is the chicken pita platter with their delicious marathon salad and fries. - The Tzatziki is fantastic. - I recommend any lamb dishes they have. - Service is extremely friendly and quick. - Take out counter next door is fantastic. Cons : - Pick your times well. Going there on a Saturday night at 6-7 PM can be exceedingly frustrating as they are usually full with an hour wait at times. Furthermore, the waiting area gets packed with people and the service has to wade through the crowd of hungry clients. I strongly recommend going there early or late, you won't regret it. - Sometimes service isn't up to par. Seating arrangements can be better. Why seat people in bunks when they are only 2 when people are waiting with group of 4 or more? - If you plan to come during prime time, parking is interesting to say the least.

Allô mon Coco
Fabreville
Service
Nourriture
3.0

There are several locations today of this trending breakfast chain, much prefer the Fabreville location rather than the St-Dorothe one. Pros : - Many delicious breakfast options to choose from. My favorite plate by far is the Choco Coco but feel free to try out their many many delicious options. - Plates are HUUUUUGE. - The potatoes are fantastic, especially with the 50/50 cheese on it. A great way to start a day with this brunch. Cons : - Always packed during the weekends from 9 AM to 12 PM and this location is far better than the St-Dorothe location where wait times can go upwards to an hour wait. - Terrible seating arrangements at times. Nothing is more frustrating than waiting for half an hour while you look at a couple having breakfast in a huge 4 seat bunkers and having to wait even longer when you're in a bigger group. - Service is very hectic and the quality of it differs wildly from one server to the next. Sometimes you get a fantastic waiter who sees you right away, brings your coffee promptly, refills regularly, bothers to chat with you and provide you some level of entertainment, makes sure you're happy, then more times than not, you get.... nothing. Wait 30-40 minutes to get in, get seats, only get your coffee 10-15 minutes after seating... trying to get their attention to order? Unacceptable. Overall, I recommend Allo Mon Coco, it's a great place to eat. However, service leaves to be desired. Perhaps they require more staff to deal with the popularity they earned, or better business practices on how to get things done better... or simply better training on how to get your clients taken care of in a professional and amicable way will not only solve the lack of service and long waits.... will not only solve their long waits.... but also earn everyone involved more money at the end of the day.

Mythos Ouzeri Estiatorio
Mile-End

3.5

Pros: - Service was quick and attentive. - Quaint painted walls that scream Greek culture to you, with beautiful murals and vases. Atmosphere felt warm and intimate. - While I didn't dine downstairs (due to the fact we read excellent reviews here on loud it may be if you wish to have conversations with fellow diners like we do) it seems to be a lot of fun for those willing to dine in a festive ambiance with a live band, dance floor and bar. We were perfectly fine upstairs. - The Tzatziki was especially good, as well as the Saganaki. Kopanisti was notably good as well. Cons: - We ordered the Mythos meat special platter (requires 4 people minimum) which comes in a beautiful long plate filled with 5 sorts of meats. Sadly, while it looked great, several selections of meats were very average and disappointing. We definitely did not enjoy the taste of the minced meat but I'm sure other people may feel differently. The sausages didn't float my boat neither. - The greek salad was somewhat uninspired and didn't feel fresh. - The calamari plate was small and definitely no where close to the best I've eaten. - The meals in general are quite expensive... especially when compared to other Greek restaurants we gone to and their food being a notch higher in general. Obviously we didn't try many fish courses, which is supposedly their specialty thus I won't give this restaurant a bad review. However, many plates were hit and miss which isn't acceptable... including the calamari. Overall, it's a nice place, with slightly better than average food but mind your budget as a good meal can cost you well over 50$.
