Description

I love both eating out and cooking at home. I have a weakness for Indian food and I am disgusted by automatic service charges.

I have been here for both supper and brunch, 3 visits to date. Each time I sat upstairs with a group. The atmosphere is very lively with soccer games playing on the TVs, old-fashioned signage on the walls, and lots of chatter everywhere. But I found the din uncomfortably loud. It was next to impossible to carry on conversation. It was better once the soccer game ended and there were less fans to deal with, but it was still pretty loud. As for the food: It was just ok for me. On the expensive side and portions could have been bigger. On the last visit (brunch) I ordered manchester curry and blood pudding. This is a vegetable curry served with rice and what was called naan but looked and tasted like small thick pancakes. The vegetables were well cooked and the curry was not spicy at all. The blood sausage was dark and heavy, and very good. And it doesn’t sound like it will go with curry, but it did. Service was patchy, serving half the table their food before taking orders on the other side.
