Nice open kitchen concept resto with excellent food and drink selection for the price. Tried the veal cheek and aged filet mignon and certainly have no complaints. Conveniently located next to Sherbrooke metro.

Decent homemade ice creams and sorbets with a few interesting and unique flavors. Soft ice cream is always too soft, but smooth and creamy. Cannot hold a candle to the other homemade ice cream shops in the neighborhood but beats Nestle any day of the week.

I'm honestly surprised that there are such bad reviews for this restaurant! I absolutely adore this place and have eaten here several times with great results. The salad bar and bread are complimentary - it is not large, but it is enough to sedate you while waiting for your appetizers to arrive. The meals are inexpensive and immaculately prepared; the pasta is fresh, the sauces are delicious and the meats are succulent. The building itself is over 300 years old and holds a lot of ambience. What more could you want?

The close-up grilling action as you walk by on St. Laurent is very enticing, drawing in loads of tourists during the summer. As mentioned by other reviewers, the service isn't always the greatest and there might be a bit of a wait for a table. If you're dining as a vegetarian, I can't imagine you'd like this place much. The specialty is grilled meats and that's what you'd come here for. There's a nice selection of meats to choose from, and if you can't decide, you can have the chef decide for you or get a sampler of 4. I recommend the sausage, squid, lamb and especially the rabbit. My experience with the pork and chicken has been hit or miss - I'm under the impression that some meats are grilled in anticipation of orders and sort of left to stay warm for service. Every meal comes with a very boring roll and a basic, yet pleasant salad with a nice vinaigrette.

We managed to sneak in for an early impromptu dinner around 5:30. We ate knowing that our table was reserved for 6:30 - It's probably a good idea to make a reservation if you're planning to dine here in the evening! The atmosphere is warm and pleasant with the sort of chaotic French ruckus you should expect in a tightly-tabled bistro. I had the fiddleheads (prepared with wild boar bacon, mushrooms and white wine) as an appetizer and the lamb special as a main course. The lamb was a little too charred, the vegetable medley was OK but I found a red pepper sticker in them and the potatoes dauphinoise were a little dry. I snuck a couple of frites off of my girlfriend's plate and they were quite good though. Overall the food left a bit to be desired, the most notable mention being the complimentary bread (a nice, chewy loaf) and jar of cornichons. The price is reasonable, but l'Express' reputation didn't quite meet my expectations.

Casa Grecque can serve a full course salmon dinner for a price comparable to one I can make in my own home. I can quibble about small things, like I don't particularly care for their salad dressing, but for the price and portion during lunch hours I think they even have a bit of an edge on the other Greek restaurants along Prince Arthur. My salmon was cooked perfectly, which is more than I can say for a lot of restaurants I've paid twice as much at.
