Casa Vinho
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Service
Nourriture
4.0

A fair meal, a cute neighbourhoody sort of place. Friendly and professional service and photos of Portugal on the wall generously donated by friends of the owners and small trinkets (a trumpet, very weird electric fireplace and a giant witch at the entrance reminding us that Halloween is around the corner) add ambiance and personality to this resto-grill on Masson in the old yet visibly renewed Rosemont - Petit Patrie. My meal was average. I took the table d'hote 3-fish combo. Part of this is personal preference. My mussel entree was tasty and generous but raw green-peppers in a mussel dish doesn't mesh well with me. Nor do i like them scattered over my main meal - unnecessary when u have the taste of fresh (?) grilled fish to propel the dish. Tuna was cooked to my liking (seared and raw), the Merlin was overdone and the calamari not enough. I like it grilled all over - not just on the outside which leaves the inside slimy. Potatoes and steamed veggies were easy but coated with oil. Easy does it. Others at my table seemed much more pleased with the grilled pork and filet mignon. House fries were great. Sadly the coffee was bitter, lukewarm and weak but i did love my little portuguese tart treat. I love those things - they never disappoint! Go for the simple stuff and for the price I'm sure you'll have a perfectly good meal.
