One of the few restaurants open the day my friend and I wanted to grab some food. Well, my friend really wanted some Vietnamese soup, specifically, because he wasn't feeling well and the weather was absolutely awful cold with tons of snow from a recent blizzard. It was during the Christmas holidays, we were disappointed that our favourite restaurant was closed. A passerby suggested Pho Tay Ho. Wow! We were very impressed. We both had versions of the soup. I had the seafood soup and he had the chicken soup. My friend had suggested that "seafood" soup doesn't always mean what you think, but in this case, I was very pleasantly surprised. Excellent high-quality seafood, including quite a few large shrimp, grilled and put into the soup. Wow. My friend really liked his chicken vegetable soup as well. Our only disappointment was the imperial rolls we ordered as appetizers. They were really small. My friend joked we should have gotten two orders each instead of two orders between us. They were good, just kind of disappointing in size. The service was excellent. I look forward to going there again!

Positives: Nice space and my colleagues liked the beers and ciders. They also have a selection of bourbons, something insanely rare in Montréal, which I greatly appreciated. Negatives: The waitress was beyond inattentive. We had to wave her down multiple times to get her attention - while she was 2 feet from our table. Bizarre. She appeared incredibly disinterested in serving us. Some of the worst service I've had in Montréal. The food was adequate, but not good. The chips were all over-cooked to near black. Very disappointing overall.

I've been here twice. The food is always out of this world, but the service is always lacking. I'm not sure what the challenge is, but both times we had issues with the servers paying attention to us and getting everything in our orders to our table at the same time. One time the wait for fries became absurd. (The fries are fantastic, but that's my point. Getting the fries can be a bit of a confusing wait, since multiple runners seem to be working with a given waiter.) Sometimes the wait staff is kind of arrogant and snotty as well. Maybe it's because I ordered in English and I'm clearly an American, or the wait staff is just generally surly. But, unfortunately, it takes away from the experience. To reiterate: The food is the best you'll find in Montréal. The tastes, combinations, freshness, authenticity, it's all there. You won't find anyplace better. But the trick is to get the food, you have deal with wait staff, who always appear overtaxed by the restaurant's popularity.

Great vegetarian food! Although I would like to eat more vegetarian food, most of it isn't as tasty as non-vegetarian. This place is an exception! Great find!

This place is OK, but hardly great. On some level, I suppose it's like going to a typical, average café in Paris. The food and the service were both adequate, but I will probably only go there again if someone really has a preference or out of convenience.
