Went here when rue St.Anne was being torn up and re-done... despite this, Tandoori bellevue was still packed with people. We ordered sampler plates so all of us could try a few things. Even people that disliked indian before have now converted. A little more expensive that typical indian restaurants, but well worth it. Everything is fresh, well presented, and you are in a nice environment on rue St. Anne afterall. We all loved it. Very good butter chicken and the tadoor cooked meals are well worth the wait. Server was less than patient with some of our friends however, as it was their first time eating indian, and the server seemed annoyed at explaining all the menu items. Apart from this though he was always there to fill our glasses and check up to see all was fine on 2 occasions. Will be back

Spent the day in St.Anne. Had a supper at Chateau Vaudreuil in a few hours, but needed something to keep us full until then, but not too heavy either. We decided to try Cunningham's Pub, and were pleasantly surprised. Apple cider from Quebec, and Newcastle Brown ale as drinks, both served very cold the way we like them, an excellent caesar salad with crispy croutons and fresh romaine, and the best nachos we ever had! (hand cut, served in an edible crispy flour torilla, topped with olives, tomatoes, onions, jalepenos, a few types of cheeses (which apparantly are NOT pre-packed or Kraft, but from a few different places in Quebec making cheeses)Service was very slow though and we never got asked if we any refills for our drinks either, although we were served with a smile. I'd come back to see the live band and have another plate of these fabulous nachos for sure the next time we are in St. Anne de Bellevue

Above average chinese buffet. Not being a fan of buffets in general, this place actually was pretty good. Although not gourment or high class by any means, the food is actually decent, if you know what to go for...(what I mean is don't expect to have great pizza and roast beef and ham at a chinese buffet...). The ribs, general tao, mixed vegetables and noodles, eggs rolls were all above average compared to other places I have been to, the stations of food were always being re-filled, and most imporantly the food that is supposed to be hot was always hot. They also have a WOK stattion where you choose your veggies, fish or meat, and the cook behind the counter prepares them for you right in front of you in a wok station with the sauce of your choice. A nice touch, actually quite tasty, and adds a little flair to an otherwise plain ol'jane chinese buffet. bussboys were always there to refill our water glasses on a number of occasions, but were little slow in picking up plates, at times we had to push them aside ourselves. ( it was quite busy so we can't blame them too much afterall). All in all a nice evening. Nothing fancy, but with the proper serving temperature of the food, the quickness of the replenshing guys, the wok, and cool tropical fish in the aquarium when you walk in would make me return with a group of friends or family again. I forgot to mention, they also have sushi which although i am not a fan of, friends who did sample them said they were very good and actually fresh tasting.

No reviews for Andalos??? I haven't been to Andalos since it closed down right next door to its old location. This new building they have is much cleaner, brighter, and better ventilated, with parking right in front, on the side, or in the rear. Also, they now have a greater focus on the sandwiches and desserts than previously. Although their baked goods are great (pita, breads, pastries etc...) their sandwiches are truly fantastic! ("Zaatar" they call it)Thyme, cheese, fresh olives, mint, marinated beets, tomatoes, lettuce all rolled up in a (not sure what it's called but pretty much is a thicker pita bread, (a hybrid between a greek gyro bread and indian N'aan bread.) Their meat version of this was also great, and gently spiced to perfection ( manouche i believe its called). Definitely picking up a few Arabic words here and there helps...to get some extra toppings from the serving ladies :) . Healthy, cheap, and with a nice outdoor seating area! A nice improvement Andalos! Keep it up!

Funny how the only reviews that give this place 5 stars are people that have only reviewed this one restaurant... makes you think. Anyways, onto my own experience. Place was deserted.. should have been the first sign to run out, but with all the positive reviews we said to ourselves let's try them out...big mistake..Appetizers: Arancini were ok, hot with some tomato sauce, nothing to write home about but still decent. the "Gamberoni ai ferri" which directly translates to Giant grilled Shrimp however is not only falsely advertized, as these were tiny sized baby shrimps, 6 tiny shrimp with a lemon wedge and some tomato sauce.. the shrimp did not have any grill marks and were poorly seasoned...not sure what's going on back there in the kitchen... Our pizzas were also very poor, which is sad, since this is their main dish other than pasta. I ordered the sausage and olive pizza, which tasted solely of olive brine!!! It made the entire pizza virutally inedible. My friend's mozzarella di bufala pizza was burnt on all sides, and only had a few slivers of bufala cheese... the funghi pizza was also disappointing... just plain white mushrooms! No truffles, porcini or portobello mushrooms here, only very bland white sauteed mushrooms.. come on guys!!! Service was non-existant. we were asked twice if we had coupons by two different individuals at random.. the answer doesn't change: NO. Waiter asked us from 2 tables away if everything is ok, although never once came back to refill our waterglasses our pour us more wine. Too disappointed for dessert, we asked for the bill. The waiter just stood there looking at the credit card machine to see what amount we were putting in as tip.. my friend who picked up the tab told the waiter excuse me, the waiter just said, oh you can just put a % as the tip it's easier that way... WHAT??? Sure he put a %.. a 0! I honestly hope the owner/management of this place can read this review as this is serious.. Poorly executed dishes for the most part + non-existant and classless service = a losing combination. I won't be back and neither will the rest of us. "artigiani" artisian? I think not.

On a recommendation, we headed out to FireGrill for a meal with family. From the onset, I knew I should have gone elsewhere. I had reserved a table outside, and when we got there, no outdoor tables were available... What's the point of reserving??? After over half an hour, and NO apologies whatsoever, we were finally seated outside. Waitress brought us water, and we saw her again another 20 minutes later to take our order... at this rate we would be out of here by midnight. Anyways, we each ordered something different and were able to try a bit of everything. Only decent thing we ate were the calamari.. everything else was unfortunately very poor, even a simple caesar salad they couldn't get right, which was so full of garlic that it was non-edible. The grilled shrimp were lukewarm and smothered in BBQ sauce, the NY striploin was bland and overcooked, burger was tasteless, ribs were charred black, and not very tender, and worst of all, the porkchops tasted like...FISH!!!??? (these were likely grilled right next to or right over the same spot where fish was grilled.. ) Too disappointed for dessert or coffee, the bill was close to 300$ excluding tip, and nobody had any alcohol....not pleased at all... the waitress didn't even bother asking us how it was... only asked if we wanted anything else... save your money and eat elswhere... i will definitely be putting an X on this place.

Grew up near this place, has always been serving GREAT portuguese specialties. Grilled chicken, chouriço, and octopus are really fantastic. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. However, the service can be slow.

I'm not afraid to try something new. As long as it doesn't bite back, i'll eat it (sometimes even if it bites back i'll eat it to show it who's boss). With that said, having never eaten indian food, a friend invited me to Bombay Choupati to get a sample... I remember thinking to myself.. "Oh God.. what do these people even eat? Who's Na'an? and what?!! there's a dish called Vaffancu--???" Being open minded about these things, I ventured out to Bombay...Choupati restaurant that is.. Despite being VERY small, (probably can seat 30-40 people at most) this is a TRUE mom and pop place. It was quiet for a Friday, (we got there at 5pm).. not starting well, and i was looking at the exit door in the back. That would be the only time however, as little did I know, I was in for a FEAST! We were quickly seated and served some water. The waiter (young man in his early 30's) explained virtually everything on the menu to me, and also took the liberty to explain the history of the restaurant to us. FASCINATING.. i must say.. they took it off the hands of the previous owner who past away, and now have made it their own. Impressive.. Anyways, to the food...after some thought, I ordered the chicken vaffancu-- i mean vandaloo. It came with something that looked like a hybrid between a pita and a pizza without sauce... Hello Na'an! nice to meet you indeed! Piping hot, Fluffy, crispy, magical! As soon as the chef got to work the restaurant began to smell DEVINE! I asked to watch the master prepare the dish, i watched from a distance like a small child looking at the ice cream man across the glass window in a gelateria: cloves, whole red chili's, star anise, with some marinated chicken breasts. then on the side he prepared some potatoes, chopped tomatoes, onions, all simmered with different spices, topped with fresh coriander.,, by the time he was done and I turned around, the restaurant was FILLED to capacity! WOW! as if they smelled it from a far and came running in!. It was fantastic! Chicken so tender you didn't even need a knife.. scopping up the vandaloo chicken and the potatoes with the Naan bread was an experience.. the spices, the texture.. it was an indian love affair in my mouth. The waiter made sure I had plenty of water re-fills since i was a newbie to this cuisine and made sure I was fine I could not believe how much i loved it! Will definitely be back! 5/5!

che buono! Definitely giving Roberto's a run for it's money. I had many different ice creams, gelati, and glaces in my lifetime, as was in search of something different... when I stepped into Havre aux Glaces in jean-talon market and saw a fresh fig on a silver tray being palced atop a mountain of freshly made FIG ice cream, i knew i had found love, and couldn't get enough of it! PERFECT! The rich, deep color of purple "melanzana" (eggplant) that those figs gave the ice cream was amazing.. sweetened with organic honey, fresh Figs from Greece, fresh cream and milk from Quebec.. wow, really something special)Staff is very knowledgeable as well, and knows EXACTLY what goes into each batch they make. Very refreshing and very satisfying! A nice change from the ordinary. Keep it up guys!

After seeing this place driving by saint-laurent one morining on my way to Jean-Talon market, and hearing about this place from some of the vendors there, I wanted to sample some of my own. I have eaten cornetti in Italy long ago, and couldn't wait to have them again! This would not be however, as these cornetti are falsi (fake)! All that came to mind when i ate one was... "meh... nothing special".. sure the filling was made somewhat in the same manner that LOOKED like the one in italy, but doesn't even come close in terms of taste. The cornetto itself wasn't much better. These were not the crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside ricotta stuffed cornetti I had in italy :( ... These were simply a notch above the store bought croissants, stuffed with some ricotta and waaaaaaaayyy too much whipped cream (to be honest, i'm not even sure there was any ricotta at all in them). The girl serving wasn't too helpful or friendly either.. much more interested in talking on her cell rather then explaining the cornetti varietes available. I'll pass on this place. Nice idea, but sadly poorly executed.

The Keg Steakhouse + Bar

Service

5.0

Despite being a chain, this KEG truly does stand out from the rest. Everything from the service, outdoor terrasse, ambiance, choice of wines, and of course the food is just fantastic. Sure it's a little pricey, but you need to remember you are at a steakhouse afterall, and in Montreal's old Port. 5 stars for this place. Consistently delivers on ALL aspects of the dining experience, THANK YOU! Staff very attentive and patient. Steaks are always properly seasoned, not just over-killed with salt and black pepper like some other much more expensive steakhouses I won't mention, and perfectly cooked to level of desired done-ness. Their sides (which are often overcooked or bland at other steakhouses) taste freshly made and served at the proper temperatures. Even on extremely busy nights, both the food and staff step up to the plate and deliver. Only downside to this place is that since it is so popular, it tends to get quite busy, and if you don't have reservations, plan to eat elsewhere as the wait can be over an hour.

Ahhh... il focolaio... Remember growing up with this place. LA ROMANA is absolutely fantastic. simple, basic, wholesome ingedients... 10 years later it is still as good as ever. Probably the best wood oven pizza in Montreal. Not a fancy place, service is decent, although nothing spectacular. Bref: Great pizza, with no bells and whistles... probably not the place you would want to bring a 1st date, as it does get crowded, and loud. Pizza quality however... guys keep it up...FORZA RAGAZZI!
